Practice

JUNGKOOKS POV

I groan as I felt something adding pressure against my right cheek. I opened my eyes and tried adjusting to the light and turned my head, noticing taehyung was poking me.

"Yah, why can't you just wake me up normally? You know that annoys me, "I mumble as a smack his hand away. I sit up and stretch, hissing a bit as I put a bit of pressure on my arms.

"Careful jungkook, be gentle" Taehyung says as he looks through some paperwork on his clipboard.

"Yeah yeah, I know nerd" I sigh and fiddle with my fingers. "What's today's plan?" I look up at him and awaited his answer. "Well you haven't practiced walking in like, 3 days" He looks at me in the eyes and sighed. "Jungkook, you can't take any more breaks, you know this is good for you. Would you rather walk or be a lazy bum?" 

"A lazy bum" I answered quickly and smile at him. Taehyung just sighed and rolled his eyes. Oh, how I love annoying him. 

"Funny, now come on, let me help you" he extends his hand out for me and I gladly take it. This part was always embarrassing to me. I don't really understand why but I always get flustered everytime taehyung holds me close when I'm about to fall. 

"Slowly, just take your time kook," he says gently and I nod. I grabbed onto his lab coat and tried my best to move my legs. I have fallen many times before, it's nothing new but I'm still afraid. I lift my left leg a bit, moving it forward shakily.

"There you go!" Taehyung cheerfully said and I couldn't help but smile. I was about to lose my balance until I felt his hand rest on my waist. "I got you don't worry kook" He whispered. I gulped and blushed. Again I tried moving my other leg but it felt heavier and harder. "i-i can't tae..." I sadly said as I felt like giving up.

He moved in front of me and took my hands, wrapping them around his neck as he held onto my waist. "Just take your time kook, no one is watching. It's just me and you. I'm here to help" I inhaled and exhaled and tried again. After about 25 minutes of practice, I got tired and leaned against taehyung. He just chuckled and ruffled my hair.

"You did great! You're getting better! In no time, you'll know how to walk again!" I just smiled and looked up at him. "Thank you tae. I wouldn't be able to do this without you, really" I move a bit and sit on my wheelchair, with the help of taehyung of course.

"I'll always be here to help, I promise" He gave his boxy smile as he stuck out his pinky finger. I rolled my eyes playfully and intertwined my pinky with his. "I sure hope so," I say, I don't ever want to lose him.

"Oh! It's lunchtime, you hungry?" He asked as he grabbed the handles of the wheelchair. I nod.

"Yeah I am"

"Okay let's go eat!" he rolled me out of my room and pushed me around the hallways. I got to say, there aren't many friendly doctors or nurses here. Tae is the only person who makes me feel comfortable. The others just give me bad vibes and I don't trust them at all. They always give me bad looks but I just tried to ignore them as usual.

We reached the cafeteria and taehyung places me by a table. "You wait here, I'll get the food," He said as he walks away. I just nod and look around. There aren't many people here at this time and I felt relieved. I get uncomfortable when I eat around many people. Especially when tae has to feed me since I can't feed myself yet.

A few minutes passed and tae comes back with some ramen, bread and orange juice. "They didn't have much and this was all I could get," he said as he sat by me.

"Oh, it's fine, just as long as I'm fed" I chuckle and lick my lips.

"Heh yeah," he says and grabs the chopsticks from the tray. He blew on the ramen a bit to cool it off and started to pick some up with his chopsticks.

"Ahhh," he said and smiled at me.

"Yah! I'm not a child!" I pouted as I ate the ramen. 

"Yes you are, you look like one and it's cute" He giggled and fed me more. "I hate you" I mumbled and chewed my food.

"Love you too bud!" He said and smiled more. Now that I think about it, I've never seen taehyung look sad. I always see him smiling and cheerful. It made me happy but sometimes I wish I was like that. I want to know how it feels like to be happy again. 

Maybe he's the key to it?
