"kim, you're late."

the sixteen-year-old brunette's day started with a bang - literally, as he fell through the classroom door, flustered from oversleeping.

"go to your seat now, and i shall be seeing you after class." mr. lee, taehyung's history teacher said firmly.

murmurs and whispers echoed amongst the class, mr. lee was one of the more 'old-fashioned' teachers, and preferred to use more 'old-fashioned' disciplinary measures - ones that surely couldn't be legal.

taehyung grit his teeth firmly, biting back a scowl, as he pushed his thin, gold-rimmed spectacles up his nose when he felt them start to fall.

he dragged his feet slowly across the classroom's dirty floor, his run-down sneakers squeaking against the beige tiles.

a gruff voice rang through taehyung's head.

'mask?'

the boy rolled his eyes before muttering quietly, hoping that none of his fellow students would hear him 'talking to himself'

"no, dumbass. not here."

'you said we could eat bad people...'

"only the really, really bad ones!"

'but-'

"mr. kim, if you're quite finished conversing with yourself, i'd like to commence the lesson."

jeongguk sauntered down the streets of seoul, hands in the pockets of his leather jacket, cigarette between his lips.

it was currently 4:35pm, and the twenty-year-old was just arriving at a garage to collect his motorbike, where it had been painted with a fresh coat of matte black.

"¿cuáunto te debo?"

"setenta."

"vamos, soy yo!"

"...ochenta."

jeongguk rolled his eyes and muttered a quiet "vete a la mierda" under his breath, before handing over the required cash.

"adios!"

jeongguk mounted his bike and revved the engines, almost groaning in happiness when he heard his baby's low rumble.

with a trail of dust behind him, he was off into the distance.
