We were running after a little boy and Brandon. I was quickly loosing breath and the others as time went on.

We ended up at what I believed was Flacos house. Brandon was getting ready to run in.

"What are you doing bro? He's a kid. JUST GET A NEW PAIR!" Rico yelled.

Albert began to freak out and I had too many emotions at once.

"No bro! I'm tired of this!" Brandon yelled.

"Flaco will be back soon so I'm not fucking going in with you." Albert tried to say as calmly as he could.

"Okay then. I can do this with or without y'all." Brandon said. "You comin' Venus? I don't have much time." Brandon pulled out a gun and cocked it.

I've loved him since we were kids.

My stupid ass went.

We snuck through in the dark trying to be as quiet as possible.

I found myself following the sound of a children's cartoon that led to the boys room.

He was under the cover shaking and beside his bed laid the shoes.

"Gimme dem! Those are MY shoes! Okay?" Brandon said getting frustrated with the whole situation.

"WHY THE FUCK YOU GOT THIS SHIT SO LOUD!" Brandon snatched the remote and muted the tv.

He waved the gun around aimlessly while pacing the floor. "You just can't take things from people alright? They're not yours." He said crouching down in front of the child.

The kid nodded and we all heard the door slam. Everyone's head turned.

Flaco.

My heart fell. It fell beyond the floor.

"Trev?! Come out here boy!"

"Get up and don't say anything." Brandon helped the boy up and pushed him forward inching us all too his bedroom door.

The boy slowly walked into the living room and we tried to quickly get out the house.

"Why it's so quiet?" Flaco laughed and looked around. "Answer me when I'm talking to you. Now, what's wrong? Why is it so quiet?"

Don't say it.

Please baby Jesus don't let him say it.

"There's somebody in the house."
