"what?!" harry nearly yelled at the words that left his sister's mouth. he didn't know if she was being serious or not- but he really hoped she wasn't playing some cruel trick on him. "you're joking." harry stated, not even a question because he was so sure of it.

gemma only managed a smile as she raised her eyebrows, "i'm not, haz."

harry's mouth went even more dry because- how is this even happening? just a few days ago anne had been gushing about how gemma is getting married to louis, and now, said bride is requesting for harry to take her place at the wedding.

"b-but, you know i can't .." harry trailed off, looking down at his hands. his feet were bouncing on the floor nervously, unable to hold eye-contact with his sister. "it's better off if you marry him, anyway. i mean, he would want you over me." gemma furrowed her brows, can't believe that harry actually thought lowly of himself. he wanted to yell at harry about how great of a person he is and how the both of them are equals, none better than the other. but she knew that harry hated yelling, so instead, she placed a hand on harry's shoulder, holding it firmly as a way of reassurance.

"hey there- i don't ever want to hear you talk about yourself like that again, you hear me? you're an amazing person. if anything, i think he's the one who doesn't deserve you." gemma said, trying to imprint on her brother's brain- though, she found it useless because no matter how many times gemma reassures him, his insecurities never go away. "also, i really doubt he'd still want me after he sees you."

well, gemma wasn't being completely honest with harry.

she could not have possibly gained the courage to tell harry that she made an agreement with louis- which is basically trading harry for a more financially stable life. thus, she ended up lying instead. it wasn't anything major, she just left out some information- but it's still the same nonetheless-

"hey harry, i was meaning to ask you if you could marry louis instead. i really don't want to and i have a boyfriend, but mum wouldn't listen."

-- .. maybe not.

harry smiled softly at his sister, feeling a tad bit better about the whole situation. "thanks gems." he said, pulling her in for a hug which she gladly complied. "but .. what about mum? i don't think she'll agree .." harry spoke, his voice cracking at the end because it actually hurts to acknowledge the fact that your mum doesn't really favour you.

"i'll talk to her."

it started out as a normal, average day for niall.

he was following with his routine, waking up at 7 a.m, getting his shit together and then heading off to work at 9. he even had an amazing breakfast today, didn't miss his daily morning work out, even managed to shower even though he usually skips them at mornings.

now, he was at work, with a pretty cheerful mood. his workmates greeted him kindly, and he got his first order of business ready, which was make tea for mr. tomlinson. everyone knows he gets even crankier without his tea in the morning, so really, niall is every employee's lifesaver.

he was carrying the tray which held louis' usual earl grey tea with two sugars and was about to knock on the door when he noticed it was already cracked open, slightly. he was about to knock anyways, when something caught his attention.

"- are you really sure about this .. harry styles kid?" the name that rolled off the person's tongue caught niall's attention, causing his whole being to freeze despite his hand already almost reaching the door.

"honestly, liam, i've never been more sure." and niall's curiosity grew even more. he balanced the tray in one hand, holding it aside, giving him access to peek from the doorcrack.
