Tonight is Christmas and I have something special planned. Lani is outside sitting in the sun while taking pictures of the landscape which is highly amazing and beautiful. I was in the kitchen with my mum and I looked at her. "Hey Mum I have a something to show you." I told her smiling and feeling nervous. "Sure, what is it?" My Mum asked and I pulled out a box from my pocket and opened the box to reveal what was in the box. My mum gasped and looked at it. "Is this a...?" She trialed off lookin at me and I nodded my head yes. "She's the one Mum. She always has been." I said and she looked at me and hugged me tightly. "Do you think she'll say yes?" I asked and my mum gave me the 'are you serious look' causing me to chuckle. "Of course she'll say yes! My baby's gonna get married!!" Mum cheered hugging me tightly. I looked outside to Lani looking around. I walked outside and leaned against the wall watching her. She was playing with a butterfly and gasped when she saw a dragonfly and a bunny. God she's so cute. I smiled when she turned around and smiled bright and wide at me. I held my arms open and she jogged up to me and hugged me tightly as she kissed me gently. "I love you Ruby." She said in my ear. "I love you Lani." I said and kissed her lips holding her by her hips savoring the moment. We sat outside and watched the sun set. "Girls come on in so we can open the presents." Mum called out and Lani and I walked into the house hand in hand. This is my moment and I got this. Lani sat in between my legs and leaned against my chest and I planted a kiss on the top of her head. I got up and handed Lani a box and waited for her to open it. She unwrapped it and opened the box and smiled. She grabbed a note and read out loud "Look up." and that's when I took the small box out and got down on my knee, my mum and the rest of my family already had their phones out recording the moment. Lani looked up at me then covered her mouth after gasping. I smiled and looked at her. "Lani, you're the most prettiest, beautiful, smart, amazing, and caring girl that I know.. And I know that it's only been a year since we started re-dating after we reunited in the old book store that you used to work at, but I can't help to say that, that was one of the best days of my life. I should've brought you with me as I went to go achieve my dreams, I regret those days so much. But I'm glad that you pushed me to go chase after them. Right now a year isn't enough with you, I want eternity with you. Even after we die. I still want to be with you after we both die. I love you Lani, and I want to be the only one to love you the way that I love you, wake up to you by my side and to see you either playing with my hair or snuggled into my side with your head on my chest sound asleep still. Will you please make me the happiest person alive by marrying me?" I asked and Lani smiled at me as she had tears fall out from her eyes. "Yes Ruby yes." She nodded while wiping her tears. I smiled wide and slipped the ring onto her ring finger on her left hand. "I love you." I told her. "I love you too." She said back and kissed me. Mum guys finished filming and I took a picture and posted it on Instagram with the caption "She said yes." And shared it along with the video.
