I pulled up into a parking spot and turned off my car then got out and so did Ruby. I quickly handed her the keys and then speed walked to the front desk and quickly clocked in. Ruby came in through the door and looked around for me. I flashed her a quick smile and then looked at everything that I needed to get done today by the end of my shift. I sighed as I picked up a box and began unboxing it. Ruby looked at me like she was waiting for something. "Yes Ruby?" I asked causing her to slightly blush as I started to take out the books. "Come here." She said. "I can't, I'm at work I'm going to get in trouble." I said. She walked up to me the desk standing in the way between Ruby and I. Ruby leaned in and gently placed her lips on mine. I blushed, hard as I slightly kissed back and then I got even more red when I heard a shutter of a phone camera go off. I blushed and hid my face. The person ran off after Ruby shooed then away. "What time are you off?" Ruby asked. "I should be done around 8:00." I said and Ruby nodded. "Alright, I'll pick you up at 8:00." Ruby said and I smiled. "Alright." I said and Ruby chuckled and kissed my head and then left the building.

I sighed as I stretched. I've been unboxing, pricing, and stocking for four hours already and I was getting exhausted. Then I remembered, I need to talk to Kelvin about LA.. I dusted myself off and went to the stairs and began to climb them. I then knocked on Kelvin's door and entered when he instructed me to. "Hi Lani! How may I help you?" Kelvin greeted then asked. "Um, I know I've been working here for about three and a half years, but I was wondering if I were to be able to transfer to the Barns and Nobles in LA..." I said and Kelvin smiled. "Are you going to LA with her?" He asked and I blushed gently. "Only if I'm able to transfer and move out of my apartment." I replied. I started to feel uncomfortable as Kelvin started to walk behind me as he stared down at me. He leaned over behind my ear and he began to rub and tighten his grip on my shoulders. "Is there anything that I can do that'll convince you to stay?" He asked and he bit my ear. I felt a shiver of fear wave over my body and I took a big gulp. "Answer me." He said and his hands were starting to trail down to my breasts. I quickly elbowed him in the rib and got up after he hit the floor. I ran out of his office with tears running down my face. "Lani! Are you okay? What happened?" Jess asked. "K-Kelvin! He tried to T-Touch me." I said in between sobs. I called Ruby "Come on Rubes pick up please.." I said and then she picked up by the second ring. "Lani?" She asked. "R-Ruby can you c-come pick me up please?" I asked sobbing. "I'll be there as fast as I can." She said and hung up. When Ruby got here, she practically ran into the building and stopped to look around for me. When she saw me at the front desk, she ran up and pulled me into a tight hug.

Ruby's P.O.V

The whole drive there, I tried to drive as fast as I could without getting a ticket. When I got there, I turned off the car and got out closing the car door behind me then I ran into the building. "It's okay, she's going to be here soon." I heard Jessie talking and I turned to the front desk and there she was. She was sobbing as Jessie was trying to comfort her. I ran up to her and pulled her into a tight hug. "What happened babygirl?" I asked as I held her as close as I could. "She went up to talk to Kelvin, and he tried to touch her." Jessie said and I felt a heat of anger build up in me. "Stay here Lani okay? Where is his office?" I asked and Lani pointed up to the stairs. I ran up to the stairs and went up them and into Kelvin's office. "Where are you you piece of shit?" I spoke to myself and the found him laying on the ground. I walked up to him, grabbing him by the shirt and punched him in the face as hard as I could. "If you ever EVER lay a hand on her again, I will come, and I will find you, and I will kill you, you sick bastard." I said through gritted teeth. I hit him one more time and threw him on the ground and ran back down to Lani and picked her up. "Come on baby, lets go home.." I said and took her out of the building and into the car. I buckled her up in the passenger seat and got in the driver seat and began to drive. She looked so broken and confused. It made me sad and really pissed off. "Baby can you tell me where he touched you and where he tried to touch you?" I asked and she took a deep breath. "After I had asked him if I could transfer, he asked me if there was anyway that he could convince me to stay, and then he started to walk behind me as he stared down at me. He then leaned down behind my ear and then he began to rub my shoulders and grip onto them. Then his hands started to trail his hands down to my breasts and that's when I elbowed him and escaped." She said and I bit my lip out of anger. I pulled into a parking space at her apartment and took her out then carried her inside. "I got you baby, I'm not going to let anyone hurt you." I said and held her against my chest as we cuddled on the couch.
