Ryder's POV

'Alpha Ryder, plan Fire Sky is go,' My Beta Lazarus told me gleefully through the mind-link. Fire Sky was my favorite, all it left was an ashen, hollow husk of a village and a diminished and homeless pack of lesser wolves.

I leaped over a burning log and ducked under flaming door frame as I raced through the city, my black tail streamed behind me. I made no noise as I ran with expert paws, the only sounds in the air were the screaming of infants, the shouts of others and even a hopeless warcry.

I ran past all of the wolves begging for help and all of the pups trapped inside flaming huts, there was only one that I searched for now.

'Arch-Alpha found, in front of the pack house, sir.' My Omega Crane reported.

'Good.' I responded my eyes glinted as I raced towards the largest building in the camp.

'Khloe, Lilith, Lazarus, Crane,' I ordered, 'To me.'

As I ran I was joined by four more wolves as they obeyed my call. Lazarus, a tibetan wolf and Crane, a maned wolf ran just behind me as Khloe, a himalayan wolf, and Lilith, an arctic wolf ran behind them.

I soon spotted a large grey wolf in front of five others, they seemed to be making a last stand in front of the only building that was not aflame. I ran straight up to the grey wolf which was obviously their Alpha and stood tall with my chest puffed out. My wolves did the same behind me. The grey wolf faced me, a low growl emitting from him and his wolves. I growled back changing my stance and bristling my black fur. The grey wolf leaped and I met him in the air, my front paws raked his shoulders as I pushed him to the ground. I heard the whines and growls around me as my pack waged war upon his. I stood over him and his eyes grew wide, pleading for mercy once he realised all hope was lost. I brought my muzzle closer to him and he let out a shrill whine before I gripped his throat and jerked my head to the side, breaking his neck. As he died, he shifted back to his human form, a tall strong shouldered man with graying hair and a proud face, his eyes stared blankly up at the black sky filled with raging fire.

"Good work wolves." I barked to my pack, once we returned to our own camp and shifted back to our human forms, I stood above most of my pack without need of a stand or platform, only Crane stood taller than me at a height of 6'5".

Our enemies called us the Silent, because there was never a warning nor a sound when we attacked, and we were proud of that, I could hear my pack making plans for a celebration of our victory as I turned and walked to my house alone. I entered my house but left the lights off, I prefered the dark. I walked to my bedroom and threw my leather jacket onto my bed before I noticed the slight draft, my window was rarely open. Turning, I saw a lithe figure crouched in the window frame, one of her hands held a small cloth bag. The woman was covered completely in black leather and a black hood covered most of her face but I noticed pale skin, stunning sapphire-blue eyes and a strand of long white hair. She stared at me, frozen, she couldn't have been older than me, about eighteen. She then leaped gracefully out of my window and into the night, but not before I noticed my silver ring upon her right hand, it had my family crest in the center of a round sapphire and small diamonds were scattered around the thin band. I walked to the window and searched for her but her figure was no where in sight. I felt a strong pull towards her as my wolf purred, 'Mate'.
