(Hollis' POV)
I coughed, and almost inhaled a mouthful of sand. I managed to open my eyes and take in some of my surroundings, despite my blurry vision. To my left, there was blue. To my right, there was green, and in the very middle, there was tan.
Using common sense, I could figure out that the blue was the awful ocean, to my right was, um, trees? And straight down the middle was sand. Gritty, hot, sticking, sand. Considering my love of the beach and anything to do with it, I sure as heck hated it at the moment.
I attempted to sit up, but was met with a wave of dizziness. I flopped back down onto my back with a groan. My head was spinning, and when I opened my eyes, black dots splattered across my vision. I breathed deeply, and tried to stretch my legs out. My legs ached and were stiff.
I laid there for a few more minutes before I tried to sit up again, this time with more success. The dizziness had subsided some, and the black dots had disappeared.
I looked around, confused for a moment before it hit me. I was on a deserted island. Well snap. I fell back down, sighing in defeat.
So many questions were running through my mind. Where was Ryder? And Tanner? Where the heck am I? How long will I survive? Can I survive?
I sat up again, this time dragging my body to a standing position. I wobbled for a second before regaining my balance completely. I started walking.
I walked along the strip of beach before I made my way in to the tropical setting of the island. I was surrounded by trees and flowers of all kind. I spotted all sorts of wildlife in just a radius of five feet. It was beautiful.
Many kinds of sounds drifted in from all directions. Sounds of the trees rustling, birds chirping, and even the very faint crash of the waves. Bright greens and yellows could be seen everywhere, pink flowers dotted the area. There were so many things going on all at once, but it was the most amazing place I had ever seen.
The trees swayed to and fro with the soft breeze that blew over the island. The peacefulness of this place was magical. It was exactly the stress reliever I needed... But then again it only added more stress considering I could be dead within the week, but oh well.
I made my way through the foliage before coming across a small oasis-like spot. That exact spot had a small pond and more flowers than any spot on the island I had already seen. Simply breathtaking.
I rushed over to the water and filled my cupped hands with the water. I slurped at the cool liquid, thankful it was fresh water and not salty. I greedily scooped another handful and drank.
Once my thirst was satisfied, I searched for a clear patch of land to camp for the night. It took at least an hour of torn ping through the jungle to find a suitable spot. Eventually, I did find a small area of free of greenery. I laid down on my back and stared up at the stars peeking though the canopy of trees. I fell asleep to the sound of the breeze and the smell of hibiscus flowers.
