twenty-one

a few weeks later the teasing and name calling at school had settled down and trixie had invited her friends out for ice cream.

"it's looking to be a good summer." trixie said as they were gathered around a table. they being trixie, katya, aquaria and her girlfriend brianna and violet and her college boyfriend matthew.

"i can't wait, we're gonna spend it together right?" brianna asked with a grin. "of course, there's going to be long nights at the beach and house parties. i could maybe even get you girls into a college party." matthew said. his voice always came off as very monotone but all the girls knew he was genuine.

"i can't wait to spend our first summer together." katya said, as everyone began to eat their ice creams. "i'm proud of you for coming out to your family." she continued.

not so long after katya and trixie had became official trixie had come out to her parents. they had been very supportive and eager to meet katya, which trixie wasn't expecting.

"i think my mum likes you more than i do." trixie said. "trixie i don't just like you, i love you." katya admitted. trixie almost chocked in her ice cream. "you what?" trixie asked.

"i love you." katya repeated. "i love you too." trixie replied and kissed katya gently. almost unaware of their surroundings katya went to deepen the kiss. "some of us are trying to eat you know." aquaria said and shoved trixie jokingly. trixie just gave her the middle finger and kissed katya once more before pulling away.

they were in love and even though to trixie, katya had started out as an experiment, she learned sometimes good things can come from that. katya was no longer her experiment, they were girlfriends and that's more than she could ever ask for.
