"Were we born to have such despairing fates?" Mahiru asked as she laid in her lap. Shinoa pondered the question. After all, their mother's were both possessed by demons in order to conceive them, they were experimented on, both succumbed to their dark desires within their hearts, both turned into a demon themselves, and both became a curse.
"I don't know. Possibly," Shinoa answered as best she could. If she could go back in time she would. All those times she regretted not being able to do more. All those times she held back what she truly felt. All those times where she could have changed so many events and saved so many lives, including her own. Shinoa sighed as she let her fingers run through her older sisters hair. "It's not that our fate's were despairing, but they were unfair."
"How so?"
How so indeed. If she thought hard about it, she'd find the answers. But Shinoa wasn't willing to go back to those memories. She wasn't willing to go back to the memories of him. Mahiru's head perked up as another presence was felt. Shinoa gasped as she turned her head to face the empty blue abyss behind her. 'He shouldn't be here.' She thought. Her older half sister sat up and gave her a sympathetic smile.
"You should probably go deal with that." Mahiru stated as she disappeared back into Guren's sword. The blue brightened into a white empty, the only other colors that stood out to her though were the green eyes of a certain raven haired male. His face wore a serious look as he made eye contacted with her red ones. Shinoa scowled back in response.
"Why are you here." She demanded rather than asked. One blink...two blink...three blink... . She felt herself getting impatient. Something that she normally didn't bother with when she was human. He took in a deep breath before answering her statement.
"Why do you think? I'm here to make a contract with you."
"Oh? And what makes you think I want to make a contract with you?" She retorted back. How annoying he was and noisy. His jaw clenched slightly, a sign of irritation. Shinoa clasped her hands behind herself and shook her head.
"If your only going to stare I'll have to send you on your way. I have no intention of making a contract with some mortal-."
*Shink*
The sound of a sword unsheathing caught her attention. Shinoa had seen the green blade before. More times than she wished she had. Something about it made her sick, if a demon could feel sick that is.
"You may have no intention of forming a contract, but I on the other hand, have other plans. And if you won't give me a contract willingly, I'll just have to take it."
Shinoa let a small laugh escape her lips. It was a laugh of mockery. Did he really think that he had the power to just take whatever he desired? The white emptiness changed into that of a church. Colorful light passed through the stain glass windows. Shinoa sat atop the preaching standing and peered down at the confused human before her. Legs crossed and face in hands. He looked up at her with a burning determination in his eyes. Some part of her was pained that she was still even considering to fight him. What about our past feelings for him, did that mean nothing? It was unbearable to push down those emotions. She could only image how Mahiru was able to dealt with such things for so long.
"Tell you what. If you can best me in a battle I'll give to the contract. But if I win...well we don't need to discuss that now do we?"
He didn't respond only gripped the handle of his sword tighter.
"What? Not going to saying anything? Fine be like that." She frowned before smiling ounce again. Red orbs of light appeared behind her and sharpened to a point in a cone like shape. They circled around her clockwise as her wings spread out wide like the hands of a clock. "I should be wishing you good luck. But unfortunately I can already see how this fight will turn out. So prepare to die!"
