Julian

The sessions with Kaden were moving slow. I hadn't mentioned the medication yet. I needed him to talk. Meadow came to see him but it wasn't enough. He would be happy then feel dejected. It was what happened in bipolar patients. Until they get the medication into their systems, their moods are all over the place.

I also went to see Cade. Since Kaden was a minor I needed to speak to a parent. We sat down and I explained everything to him and Andi.

"This makes so much sense now," she sighed.

"How did we miss the signs," Cade asked me.

"Because you weren't looking especially when you don't know about bipolar. Cade, I know you blame yourself but don't. The thing about bipolar is, it's not as simple as people think it is. It's more complex especially when the person who has it, is dealing with it. I think it's been slowly happening but recent events triggered it more so. Right now he is riding a rollercoaster of emotions. Up and down," I explained moving my hand in a rollercoaster fashion.

"We know he needs the medication, so how do we get him to take them," he asked me.

"I think I might have an idea. Kaden mentioned someone by the name of Phoenix. Said he plays with them online. I need access to that gaming profile," I reasoned as they looked at each other then at me. If it was one thing I knew about gaming, there was always someone behind a profile. It's complete anonymity.

Cade and Andi showed me Kaden's room. I turned in the console and logged on. Kaden has everything set to automatic login. Once I was on, I heard a voice.

"Well, doomfist, nice of you to join us," they said.

"I've been a little busy," I replied.

"Well, let's do this," they said. Only it was a she. Interesting.

I played as she talked. When she mentioned I was still quiet, I knew this must have started right around his breakdown. I also knew we had to trace her. Who better than someone that knew this stuff.

I kept playing to keep Phoenix online when Enzo showed up. If anyone knew how to figure out someone's location it was him, except he didn't need to. He took a look at the game, then at us.

"What," Cade asked him.

"You do know that's Amelia, right?" He signed to us.

"Wait. What?" We both said a bit confused. Actually, scratch that we were a lot confused.

"Yeah, this is her favorite game and she chose Phoenix because of the X-men. Jean Grey is her favorite," he answered.

"Does she know this," Cade asked him.

"I don't think so. She just mentioned she had this friend online named doomfist who seemed to be having issues. She was hoping they would talk to her. I just told her to keep trying," he replied.

"Apparently our kids don't realize they have been playing games together online," Cade sighed.

"Maybe that's a good thing," I said as they looked at me. "If Kaden knew Phoenix was Amelia then he wouldn't have opened up to her as much. This also gives me an idea."

The three of them looked at each other then at me. I know it was a risk but Kaden needed help and I needed Enzo to convince Phoenix aka Amelia to help.

Amelia

I was a bit surprised doomfist was online. I hadn't heard from him for a while. Maybe he got help. I hope so. He sounded so down.

I decided to log off and get something to eat. I came downstairs to find dad, Uncle Julian, and Uncle Cade. I wonder what they wanted.

"Amelia, Cade needs to talk to you," dad signed.

"Okay," I answered.

We took a seat and Cade explained everything about Kaden. Then he told me Kaden was doomfist. It surprised me but not a whole lot and made sense why he hadn't been online.

"We need your help," Julian told me.

"Yeah but even if I tell Kaden I'm Phoenix, he may not believe me," I told them. That was the thing about online. People will lie and it causes you not to believe the truth.

"Then tell him something only you and he knows," dad told me as I looked at them. There was one thing only Kaden and I know about. I hope he believes me.

I sat in my room feeling more down than usual. So many emotions coming at me at once. When Meadow was here, I was happy. When she left, I felt unhappy and lonely. Eventually, she'll get tired of me.

My door opened and Julian came inside, telling me I have a visitor. I didn't have much hope. I got up and followed him to the visitor room only to see Amelia waiting for me. What was she doing here? She hates me.

I took a seat at a table as she did the same.

"Hey Kaden," she greeted me.

"Amelia," I said in a suspicious tone.

"So, I have something to tell you," she said fidgeting as I looked at her. "I'm Phoenix."

"What?" I looked at her as I furrowed my brows.

"I know you don't believe me but....."

"You're lying," I spat. I looked at Julian, "is this a joke?"

"Kaden just listen to her."

"No. She hates me and so does everyone else. She's probably happy I'm here. Kaden the nutjob is locked away for being an asshole. She probably thinking, good, now I don't have to deal with him," I rambled as my paranoia kicked in spewing things out of my mouth.

"I know what you're doing. You're trying to get information and take it back to the school, so you can all have a good laugh. Not going to happen."

I got up and ranted and raved. So many emotions coming at me, filling my mind. I couldn't handle it and it was driving me insane.

"You like lilacs because of the scent. You said it was such a beautiful scent and it was your favorite thing about spring," Amelia said stopping me in mid-rant.

I looked at her, "only Phoenix knows that."

"Exactly. I also know that you hate football and you want friends because you feel like no one likes you even though you have a hard time approaching them," she added as I took a seat.

"You also love the stars and staring at them because it gives you hope that one day, someone will like you. You don't think your parents like you but all you want is for them to love you. You feel like people hate you so you hate them first, hoping they never know the real you. The you that is lonely and sad. Who tries to smile but forces it. That what happened between you and your ex, you deserve the treatment you to. No one deserves to be treated like that," she finished as I sat there and looked at her. Phoenix.

"Kaden, I didn't know you were doomfist but I knew you needed a friend. We all do. I also know that after a storm comes a rainbow. This is your storm. Now it's time to find your rainbow," she reasoned.

Rainbow. I sat there as I thought about it. That's when it hit me. I turned to Julian, "can I see a rainbow?"

He looked at me, knowing what I meant, "I'll make a call."

A smile grew on my lips.
