Chapter 18

What if......

"HAHAHAHAHA you should have seen your FACE" Roni laughs coming out from behind some trees.

"OH MY GOD! DON'T EVER DO THAT AGAIN. You got me so worried" I said hugging her.

"Why were you so worried, anyways its not like I could have....." She stops, thinking before continuing "Don't worry, nothing will happen to me." She said giving me a small smile.

"By the way Roni, we're getting late. We better head back home" I say and we walk home. 

Once we reached my house I kept my bag inside and decided to drop Roni home. In the car we turned  the radio on and she was singing along......or should I say she was screaming the song. She was laughing so much and I couldn't take my eyes off her. I am really lucky to be a close friend of such a precious girl. I dropped her home and as I returned I saw my mom near the front door. 

"Hmm so you and ....Veronica ?" She asks with a smirk. My mom has been shipping us for a while now and I didn't wanna get her hopes high. I didn't wanna tell her we are fake dating cuz if mom finds out the reason she is gonna be mad so I just denied and told her we are just friends, cuz we are gonna breakup anyway. 

Veronica POV

Aaron dropped me home a few minutes ago and I was just scrolling through my phone but I just feel so restless knowing that Josh is here. It's been bothering me for the longest time now and I really hope he gives up on me. I got a text from Aaron and we were texting with each other till like late at night and it instantly lifted my mood up. It made me forget Josh and every other problem I was facing. He told me he couldn't sleep and asked me to sneak out of my house. 

I slipped on a hoodie and got out of my house. My mom and dad go to bed early as they have work early in the morning and nessa was in her room, chatting with James. As I slipped out, I see Aaron walking up to me. I remember sneaking out at midnight and going on fun dates with Josh all the time. That was, before he became abusive.

 We walked to an Ice cream shop nearby and chatted for a long time while eating our icecream. I have become really close to Aaron and I love it. 

As it was getting late, we decided to go home and get some sleep cuz we had school the next day. 

"Aaron, that was a lot of fun. Thank you. It really helped me get my mind off things." I said.

"My pleasure. I had a great time too, I would rather hang out with you late at night than sleep." He said hugging me. This giant teddy bear never misses a chance to hug me.

"What did you say?" He asks playfully. Oh shoot did I say that out loud. But I don't mind him hugging me cuz.... I love it.
