Its the first day of my sophomore year. I stood outside, waiting for the doors to open and listening to the band practice out on the field. I was lost in my thoughts. Everything that happened last year I want to forget about. I want to stsrt over, make new friends. But that's where the problem is, its nearly impossible for me to speak to someone I dont know. I always go silent if someone I don't know talks to me. I heard the door click, indicating that it was now unlocked. I pushed the door open and walked into the building. The halls were still the same along with the teachers that roam them. Making sure stupid kids aren't doing stupid shit. I pulled out my schedule and took the remainder of my time looking for my classes. The bell rang signaling me to go to my first period. I speed walked to the 400 hall where my first class was. History. I walked into the room and found one of my team mates from drill team. Quickly, I set my stuff down next to her and sighed. She shot me a smile. "Morning Allie, how was your summer?" I breathed in, "Same old story, for how much I do with my life, my summers are pretty uneventful. I do want your opinion on something though Kayla." She nodded. "Ive decided I want to make new friends, I'm tired of feeling too incompetent to be here." "Well", she said," who'd you have in mind?" I looked around the room as more people flooded in. "I don't know, but what I do know is it can't be a girl, they're nothing but drama. I learned that from my last friendship." She tapped her chin and looked around. "Hey, how about him." She nodded behind me. I turned around and quickly turned back around to face her. "Bitch are you crazy?" I whispered. "He wouldn't want to talk to me. He's too cute find someone else who isn't gonna make my face turn red everytime I talk to them." She rolled her eyes, "You asked for my help, now you're getting it. You're gonna talk to him at the end of class." I huffed and leaned back, covering my face with my jacket. Kayla was trying to make me physically melt I swear. The teacher didn't have anything for us to do, so I began to message around on my phone. Kayla tapped my arm and I looked over at her. "What is it?" "Allie this is your chance, no none is sitting by him and we arent doing anything right now. Go talk to him." I could feel the heat rising in my face. "But what if I mess up?" She pushed me up out of my chair, "Then improvise, now go." Timidly, I walked over to where he was sitting. He looked up at me a little confused. I looked down. "Um...hi. Is um.....is this seat taken?" He shook his head no and I sat down. I was fiddling with the sleeves of my jacket. "So w-what's your name?" He looked up at me, "My names Gabe, what about you?" I smiled a little, "I'm Allie, do you maybe want to be friends Gabe?"
He nodded, "Yeah I don't see why not." My smile grew bigger and he smiled back. I looked over at Kayla who was watching the whole thing with a smirk on her face.

A few weeks had passed and we began walking with each other to our classes if we were headed the same direction. I started to get that feeling again. A crush, hes very sweet, kind, and fun. I began to think about him more and more. I wasn't sure what to think of it. It wasn't anything bad, just daydreaming about how it'd go if he asked me out. I decided to wait and see what would happen. I decided to wait for him and walk with him to our 8th period that we had together. We'll be in the library so I'll go wait for him there. I walked down the hall with a huge grin on my face and stood by the entrance to the library. He'd come soon.∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆
