"Josie! I swear to..." Lizzy stopped in her tracks. On the floor was her precious sister, laying in pile of her own blood. "Oh God, Josie!" Lizzy wailed. She threw herself over her sister's body as an object flew across the room headed for Josie. Lizzy barely made it, but she failed to realize the danger she had put herself in. The knife struck Lizzy and entered her back. She fell, gurgling, by her sister's side. One could be healed, the other would die.

"Ric!" Caroline screamed. Chains steeped in vervain held her to the stone wall of the dungeon. The Salvatore Boarding house had become a sanctuary for those that were misfits in the supernatural world. Now, it had become a place of war. Ric came barreling through the doors, crossbow in hand, blood smearing his face and hands. "Caroline, where are the girls?" Ric asked with worry and panic creasing every wrinkle. "The girls were with you..." Caroline said, her eyes widening in panic. "Hush now, it will only be a few more moments," a woman's voice sounded from the dark corner of the dungeon. "Who the hell are you?!" Caroline screamed. Ric had inched his way over to Caroline, crossbow raised and ready to fire toward the unknown intruder. "I am an old acquaintance Ric," the woman's voice said. Ric tried to place the voice, but before he could, an arrow shot straight through his heart and he collapsed on the floor at Caroline's feet. Caroline started to weep as she realized that Ric wasn't wearing the supernatural ring that protected him. His eyes met hers and she watched as the life slowly faded from them.

"Damon, we have to find her," Elena groaned. They were humans, or had been. Both had taken the cure and now that Damon was in his forties and Elena in her thirties, they had decided to bare a child. The girl had a good mixture about her. Her face was shaped like Elena's, her brown eye held Elena's fighting spirit, her dark black hair the color of Damon's and her blue eye showing his mischief. "Don't worry about her dearest Elena," a soft voice murmured. Elena looked around her with wide eyes. She hadn't heard that voice since Stefan had sacrificed his life. "What the hell do you want?!" Damon snarled. "Don't worry, it's her time," the voice spoke again. Elena was thrown against the wall and Damon sank to his knees in pain. "I swear if you..." he started, but his neck was snapped and he rolled to the floor. "She has no protectors now," the woman said smiling before making her way to find the eighteen year old girl.
