The action of closing your eyes...
Your body peacefully becoming dormant
For a nights rest.
Having a dream
Where you awake and aching to return.
Waking up refreshed and energized.
Prepared for a new day.
Or.
The action of laying down.
Unable to close
These two gateways to your soul.
Your mind swelling with thoughts,
Which of course, you overthink.
You toss and turn endlessly.
Than you hold your covers tight.
Than you kick them off.
You can't fall asleep.
You start to sweat
or you're frozen.
Finally,
You fall asleep.
Your thoughts haunting you in your dreams.
They followed you into the dark.
Then you wake up,
More exhausted than when you hit the pillow.
How'd you sleep?
