Realising that I would probably need some more information about what happened to me I jump up off my bedand walk over to my desk and write a letter to Hermione because Hermione knows pretty much everything. Double checking that I had gotten the address right I seal the letter shut with some tape that I found in my desk drawer. I have to wait for Hedwig to get back from hunting before I can send the letter to Hermione. Thinking about my friends made me think about the duel Voldemort and I participated in. Recalling from memory the spells that I had dodged, I was shocked at how slow my reaction time was. I noticed that I wouldn't move until the last second, which while it may work in some cases it is not a good strategy to rely on. I decided that this summer I would work on my stamina, dodging and reflex skills. Taking out a piece of parchment and a quill I decide that I will make a list of all the things I want to improve on or learn this summer.
LIST OF THINGS TO DO THIS SUMMER
Work on doging dodging skills
Quick reflexes
Stamina
Non-verbel Non- verbal casting
Wandless magic
Family Magic
Animagi Forms?
Running out of ideas of what I wanted to improve on I pack way my ink and my quill. Finding a rusty nail poking out of the wall above my desk, I stand the top of my parchment onto the nail so that it hangs there. Taking a moment to admire my handiwork I step back and flop ungracefully onto the bed. Cringing a little in pain I berate myself in how I could've forgotten about my overly sensitive wings. Adjusting my position until i'm comfortable I ly there just made questioning my life choices and just my life in a whole. After what seemed liked hours later I heard a tapping on the window tap, tap, tap, looking up it was just Hedwig wanting to come inside after her daily hunt. I get up and walk over to the window and pulled it open, with a whoosh in she comes flying inside and lands on her perch. Grabbing the letter I walk over to her perch and say
"Hello Hedwig, after you have eaten will you please take this letter to Hermione, or are you too tired?."
Hedwig let out some indignant hoots when I asked if she was tired, she just looked at me like 'what is this human talking about' and 'of course I can'.
When Hedwig had finished eating her afternoon snack I attached the letter to Hermione onto Hedwig's leg. Once it was securely attached Hedwig took off out the window to Hermione's house. Deciding that I need to stretch out my legs I get up to go to the park and start to walk out my door, but then I get stuck almost fully out of the door. Craning my neck around to see what caused this to happen I remember that my wings have fully expanded and I am now unable to walk in or out a doorway with shuffling to the side. Carefully backing out of the doorway I take a moment to adjust from the uneasy feeling that had spread across wings from being in close contact with the door frame. Managing to awkwardly side-step shuffle out the door I cross the landing to the staircase and make my way downstairs to the Living room, I have to do my weird shuffle thing through the doorway to the kitchen. Before I open the front door glance out the window to see if anyone is around outside. I noticed that all the houses had their windows closed and everyone was inside. Walking out of the house took a lot of effort because I had to crouch down and side shuffle out the front door so that I wouldn't hurt my overly sensitive wings. Taking a deep breath I take a moment to appreciate fresh air and the nice weather. As soon as I walked out of the house I sensed that someone was following me. Trying to make my body as alert as possible without the unknown enemy seeing I cautiously walk down the street. As I was strolling down the street I pretended that I wasn't aware of my surroundings when in reality I was fully aware of the presence that was currently behind me. For some unknown reason I could see a slight glowing coming off the left side of me that was sticking as close to the shadows as it could. Making the connection, I realise that the glowing patch could quite possibly be the unknown enemy that was using a magical item to make themselves invisible. I think to myself
'the glowing is a bit of a giveaway don't you think'
but you know what Hermione says 'most wizards don't possess an ounce of logic '
I can tell that wizards don't have a lot of logic at all. As I made my way to the small park I noticed that there were quite a few muggles out and about and I was wondering why no one was noticing my wings.
"Oh well, maybe they are only visible to wizards. No wait, that can't be right because how would of my relatives seen them."
Only getting more and more confused the more I thought about it I decided that I just wouldn't worry about it. Seeing the park up ahead I slow down a little and admire the scenery around me. When I finally got to the park I make my way over to one of the park benches that was partially hidden due to the large oak trees surrounding the area. Just as I had sat down I saw a head pop up beside me
"So Harry, what are you doing here," said Remus.
Trying to calm the thump-thump of my heart that was due to the mini-heart attack I just had I held up a hand to show Remus that he had to wait for a second. Getting out of my shock I say
" More like what are you doing here?."
"It was my shift for guard duty, when I noticed you coming out of your house. I followed you as quickly and quietly as I could without you noticing. I followed you to the park, and here I am."
"So it was you that was following me. I thought someone was following you and I kept my guard up just in case it was a potential enemy."
"Mad Eye Moody would be proud, as you know CONSTANT VIGILANCE is his rule he makes sure to always follow."
"Anyways Moony, why did you choose to reveal yourself to me?."
"Well because if you haven't noticed it's your birthday!."
"Also I wanted to see if you came into your inheritance yet," admits Remus sheepishly.
"Inheritance? Oh, do you mean this", I answer gesturing wildly to my wings.
"Yes, that", replies Remus who sounds amused by my curiosity.
"Because your father was the same," says Remus his tone a bit sadder than normal.
"My dad was in the same situation as me?," I said curiously.
"Do you want me to tell the story of how it happened?."
"Yes please, Moony."
Hi guys, so I realized that my chapters were too long so I've just cut them in half with the same content as before. I've made them shorter so it's easier to read. Also I won't be updating again until school starts because i'll be suppppeeer busy these holidays.
