"Well that was just woah! I'm confused." A red-headed girl who looked about 17 years old exclaimed giddily.
A wave of sense washed over me as I remembered the water, the basilisk; the darkness. The aptitude test. Suddenly furious with the girls' happiness I snap, "WHAT WAS THAT?"
-Oh, well, umm...- She's trying to cover up something, I knew it instantly and I also know that even if I weren't Candor I would've spotted it too.
-What? What's wrong?- I ask impatiently.
-The thing is... I kind of confused but you must forgive me it was a mistake...- The giddiness in her voice was replaced by a dubious uncertainty.
-Well i don't even know what you're talking about. The thing is I don't care, I just want to know what faction I got.- I talk slowly as if trying for her to catch up with me. It should be the other way around, I'm the one who just did the aptitude test!
-I told you!- She started sobbing- I confused! That wasn't the aptitude test! But please don't tell or I'll be in a lot of trouble!
-What? How? If it wasn't the aptitude test then what was that?!- I practically shout, beaten up and dazzled with all of this, with not knowing what's going on.-Okay, listen up, you tell me what's going on and stop sobbing about it! You amity are so annoying!- I instantly bite my lip. Why on earth did I say such a nasty thing? I was already turning into a Candor jerk. I was overwhelmed with desperation as it finally sank in; I had to leave this faction, i couldn't stand this rudeness until the end of my life.
-What you drank! It wasn't the aptitude test! It was the fear simulation!- The girl screams bitterly.- Now, get going. I would say you should be dauntless since you got out of there in only four minutes; but i can't be totally sure. Just keep your big mouth shut or us both will be in a lot of trouble, got it?- And with that, she throws me out of the room.
What was I going to do?
Too lost, I feel the tears running down my face.
