Dipper POV

(drip...drip...drip...)

I slowly open my eyes to the sound of dripping.

(drip...drip...drip...)

What's happening?

I wake up and feel little droplets of water drip down my face.

It's raining. How long was I out? The sky was clear and blue just before I closed my eyes.

I decided not to pay attention to the rain and keep going. All I see are pinetrees and maybe a small critter here and there.

If I had to guess, it's probably around 6:30 pm on how dark it's getting.

I need to get out of here, fast.

How long have I been walking? My legs...they hurt.

But...Mabel. I need to get to her. I need to see her. I need to hear her. I can't give up on her.

Just keep walking.

"Mommy! Look!" a cheerful voice called out.

.....Mabel?....Mabel?!

I look over a bunch of bushes and see a brunette the same age as me in a pink dress with white ruffles and a light pink bow wearing hot pink rubber-shoes and a pair of shooting star earrings.

It is her! Mabel! ...

But....why does she seem....happy...?

"Mommy mommy! Lookie here! I found a star-shaped pebble mommy! It's so cute!" Mabel exclaims, joy filling her voice to the brim.

Does she not....care about me?
Did she not think about my well-being the entire time I was gone?
Did she even cry when she found out I went missing?

Did she give up on me........?

"That's nice, sweetheart. Do you want to go to the swings? I'll push you." my dear "mom" suggested to my lovely "sister".

"Yes mommy! Thank you!"

That joy in her voice...
It. Makes. Me. Sick.

I watched as they skipped over to the play area as Mabel sits on one of the swings. My mom pushes her as they both laugh.

I couldn't find the pain in their voices.
