Kris' P.O.V.

I open my stinging eyes to the bright light of the morning sun shining through my window. Although the sun is bright, my room is as cold as ever. I wish mum would get a heater in here.. I think before sitting up and getting out of bed. The coldness hits me like a wave and I shiver. I grab my phone from on top of the dresser and check it. No messages, as usual. I put it down, quickly checking the time.

7:43AM.

It's around the time that I leave for school, but today I really don't feel like going. My legs hurt and school has really been draining my energy, even though i sleep through most of it.

If I lie to mum and tell her that i'm sick or something i'm sure she won't mind. It's not like she'll be home to check on me..

I decide to stay home. I run to my closet and rug up. I put on a black turtleneck under an oversized shirt and black leggings. I slip on my ugg boots and walk downstairs, grabbing my phone on the way. I take an ice tea bottle out of the fridge and go outside to sit on the front porch, in the hopes of catching Susie on my way to school. I sit on the creaky wooden steps and scroll through my instagram feed for a while before hearing feet scraping the gravel in front of my house. I look up from my phone to see it's none other than Susie on her daily commute to school.

"What's up, dork?"
"Nuthin much.."
She walks up to the porch and sits next to me on the steps.
"You coming to school today?" She asks. I shake my head.
"I'm just not feeling it today.." I say, taking another sip of my ice tea.
"Sounds like me everyday." She replies, leaning back on her hand.
"What about you? You should head off.." I say, only just realising the time. 8:04AM.
"Nah.. now the only reason I come to school every day isn't even at school.." she says. I smile. We sit in silence for a moment or two before Susie talks.
"My mum is so excited about that Krismoss party.. when is it again?" She asks.
"I think it's this saturday.." I say lazily. I don't even know what day it is.
"This saturday!? That's tomorrow!"
"It's Friday today?" She ignores me.
"Huh.. I better start getting mentally prepared."
"For what!?" I laugh. She laughs too.
"For my entire house to be fucking ripped to shreds!"
"Aw c'mon it wont be that bad.."
"Yes it really will."
"I'll help you tidy up afterwards.. not like I have anything better to do anyways.."
"Yeah sure.. knowing Noelle she'll help too so that'll make it easy."
"I honestly can't wait.."
"Really? I thought someone as apathetic as you are would hate christmas more than the grinch!"
"It's actually my favourite holiday.. it used to be so much fun when our family wasn't all broken and falling apart. Brings back memories.." I smile remembering the little red horns and Asriels smash bros figurines.. It makes me kinda happy remembering everything.. I take another sip from my ice tea and I break the silence.
"What do you want for christmas?" I ask Susie. Of course, I have to get her something.. but i'm not sure what to get her.
"Haven't really thought about it yet.. what about you?" She asks.

A loving family I think to myself.

"I asked Toriel for something expensive.. but not to be mean or anything..  I just really wanted one.."
"What was it?"
"One of those dangly pandora bracelets that you can put charms on.. I think they're cute cuz theres charms that you can get that can match your partners one.. so one day I wanna get one of those." I blurt out, feeling really girly.
Not that she'll bother to get it anyways.. I think and take another sip of ice tea, only to notice the bottle is empty. I stand up.
"So i'm guessing you're staying with me today, huh?" She nods, smiling.

So fucking pretty..

"Well i'm going inside.. it's 2 degrees out here so.." I open the door and Susie walks in. I follow suit and close the door behind me, immediatley walking to the minifridge to get more ice tea. Instead I notice a full milk tea bottle and I take it out.
"You want anything? I've got too much ice tea.." I ask Susie, staring at the 4 racks of lipton bottles in the minifridge.
"Sure, pass me one."
"Think fast!" I say, chucking a full bottle at her. She catches it just as it's about to hit her face.
"Smoooth." I say, closing the minifridge.
"Your place is.. cozy." She says, looking around.
"It's nothing much, but it's sustainable. At least i've got a roof over my head." I giggle. Susie smiles.
I walk over to the tiny box TV in the living room and pull out two nintendo switch controllers from the table underneath it.
"Mario party?" I ask.
"Hell yes." She sits on the floor in front of the TV and leans on the couch. I hand her a controller and lay on my stomach on the floor next to her. And as usual, I win every round.
