Best Friend or Boyfriend?

Chapter 2:

Hayes's POV:

I came home from Magcon today but I didn't tell Amber. I wanted to surprise her, so I asked my mom for help. She asked Amber to babysit Skylynn while she picked Nash and I up from the airport. But, Amber had no idea we were coming home.

On the way home I stopped to get her some flowers. I missed her so freaking much and she deserves the best.

I wonder if she ever thought about me?

We had a long way home and the whole way I thought about the last time I saw Amber.

*flashback to the day Hayes left*

I invited Amber over for the last day before I left for Magcon so she could help me pack and make sure I didn't forget anything, cause she is a girl. Girls are good at stuff like that.

"Alright. I think that's everything."she sated, putting her hands on her hips.

I just looked at her, smiling and she laughed a little.

"What....?"she giggled.

"I am just going to miss seeing my best friend everyday."I said looking down.

I heard her sigh and start crying.

"I am going to miss you too Hayesieboo..."she said with tears running down her face. But, she doesn't wear makeup around me so, she could wipe her tears without worrying.

I walked over to her and hugged her. She put her head on my shoulder and cried a little more.

The hug lasted forever, but I didn't mind. I was actually crying a little too now.

"Hayes, c'mon it's time to go!"I heard my mom yell from downstairs.

Amber tried to smile and I decided to do something crazy.

I cupped her face in my hands and looked at her for a minute then kissed her lightly. She kissed me back too which made me feel amazing!

We pulled away and I took my bags and left with her behind me but I never looked back after that moment...I haven't seen her beautiful face since.

*end of flashback*

It took me almost the whole ride but I finally realized I have a huge crush on my best friend.

We pulled into the driveway and it was so good to be home. I got the flowers and opened the door trying to be as quiet as I could.

It was silent except for muffled crying. I walked to the hallway, where the crying was coming from. I saw Amber and she turned around and ran to me and tackled me to the ground where we both hugged eachother and cried happy tears.

"You miss me Ambsie?"I cooed in her ear.

She looked up and smiled. She looked really different, a good different. I guess people can change a lot in a year.

We stood up and I gave her the flowers that I dropped when she tackled me.

Amber's POV:

Hayes gave me the flowers and I blushed. His mom brought his bags in and he carried them upstairs and I followed as Sky ran down to see Nash.

When I walked in his room I just thought about what happened last time.

I never had feelings for Hayes when we were kids...but after we kissed I totally fell for him. But no one knows that...

I want to push my feelings for him to the side cause the last thing I want is for our amazing friendship to be ruined!

"Amber? Are you alright?"Hayes asked.

I must have zoned out when I was thinking.

"Yup, I am fine."I replied a little too quickly.

"So, tomorrow Nash is having his friends from Magcon over...you wanna stay over tomorrow?"he asked.

"That sounds awesome, I'd love to!"I said.

We decided to watch a movie before I went home and I could help unpack his stuff tomorrow.

He turned on The Lion King and we laid next to eachother...but this time he put his arms around my middle and I snuggled up to his side.
