Riley's Bedroom- The room is a mess, but it gives off a homey, lived-in vibe. Trash and clothes are all over the floor, the bed is unmade and has homework and open textbooks all over it. There are Star Wars, Doctor Who, Harry Potter, and Sherlock posters covering the walls. Various nicknacks and collectibles are on the bookcases, dresser, and bedside table. There are two bookcases standing right next to each other against the back right corner of the room. They are overflowing with books, movies, video games, notebooks, and sketchbooks. Across from the bookcases is the dresser, it's old and white, it has different colors paint splattered all over it. Some clothes are peaking out from the drawers, and on top of the dresser is a TV and a PS4. The bed is against the same wall as the bookcases, but is a few feet away from them. On the left hand side of the bed there is a night stand made out of a small plastic table. On top of the night stand, among the empty candy wrappers, is a lamp with a battered blue shade, a Bluetooth speaker that is blaring the Dear Evan Hansen soundtrack, and a battered silver IPhone that is on the charger. The camera goes from panning around the room to focusing on Riley, who is looking into the full length mirror that hangs on the back of the door. The mirror itself is cracked and has dried blood on it, it looks like someone punched it months ago but never bothered to replace it.
Riley is looking into the mirror, there is ace bandages wrapped around his chest as a way to bind his breasts. Riley is in jeans and high top converse, his jeans are rolled at the ankles. He pulls a baggy hoodie over his head, and then puts a beanie on. Riley turns to his side and checks out his chest in the mirror. Several emotions pass over his face, he looks as if he is about to cry. He pulls hard at the wavy, tangled mess of hair that reaches the bottom of his chest.
Riley: No no no! It's wrong, it's so wrong.
He glides his hands over the barely visible bump that is his chest.
Riley: This isn't right. It's never right. Why can't it just be right for once?!
Riley pulls the hoodie away from his chest. His hands are shaking visibly. A voice sounds from off screen.
Riley's Mother: Christine! If you are not down here ready to go in 5 minutes then we are leaving without you!
The camera is still focused on Riley's reflection in the mirror. Tears actually fall down his face this time. He clears his throat a few times so his voice doesn't crack when he tries to speak.
Riley: Alright Mom! Be down soon, I just gotta find my wallet and I'll be good to go!
The sound of Riley's Mother walking away is very clear. Riley turns away from the mirror, and the camera travels so the whole room is visible. Riley picks up some bracelets from his bookcase. Before he puts them on his left wrist suspicious red lines are visible. After pulling back down his sleeve, Riley grabs his wallet from the same bookcase and heads downstairs. The camera follows behind him.
