"Mom, I don't want to try out for the cheer squad!" I called from my room.
"But you loved cheer camp." my mom replied.
"I lied! I don't want to go to school here! I don't know anyone. I'll be alone." I headed down the stairs and sat next to my twin sister, Kylie.
"See, I actually made friends at cheer camp, like Addison, who goes to Seabrook." Kylie said.
"Yeah, well I am also kind of an introvert, where as you are an extrovert." I replied. Kylie stuck her tongue out at me.
"Kylie, stop." my mother scolded, "Now, Y/N, you try out for the cheer squad, and if you don't get in, you don't have to do it. But if you do get in, you will do cheer until the Homecoming game. Got it?"
          "Fine." I muttered.
"Hey, Mom. Guess what?" Kylie asked.
          "What, dear?" my mom responded.
"Zombies are going to school now." Kylie took a bite of her apple and my mom dropped the forks she was holding.
          "Mom, you okay?" I inquired.
"You. Will. Not. Talk. To. Them." she stated through clenched teeth.
"Why not?" Kylie asked, standing up and grabbing her bag. Kylie was always the one to go against the rules.
"Because! You just won't, okay?" my mom sighed, "Have a nice day." Kylie rushed out the door and I walked out. Kylie ran straight over to Addison and gave her a hug. I avoided them and headed down the street.
           3rd Person P.O.V.
"Zed, humans will never accept us. I don't get why you are so excited." Eliza explained. Zed rolled his eyes.
"Because this is a change! Maybe in the future, we will be accepted." Zed replied. A barrier split the human entrance from the zombie one.
Y/N kept her head down as she walked to the school. Once she was there she lifted her head as her sister, Addison, and another guy headed past. Y/N locked eyes with a tall zombie with green hair, like the rest, but he had kind brown eyes. He smiled. Y/N smiled shyly and headed inside the school, unknowing that the zombie watched her, smiling just as wide.
"Hello? Earth to Zed!" Eliza exclaimed. Zed shook his head and looked at her.
         "Y-yeah? What?" Zed asked, innocently.
"Why were you staring at that human?" Eliza questioned.
          "What human?"
"Don't play dumb!" Eliza teased. All three of the zombies headed inside to the basement.

"Okay, Bree. It's going to be okay. There's a zombie safe room right there. We're going to be fine." I said pointing to the door. Her face went from worried to frightened and she ran away. A group of boys ran past, trying to find the zombie. I headed inside the zombie safe room and shut the door behind me.
        "Hello?" I inquired
        "Hello?" a voice questioned back.
        "Hello?" I asked again.
"Why, hello!" the voice said cheerfully.
"Don't get any ideas, buster. The only thing more deadly than my high kick is my low kick." I said, jokingly.
"I'm sorry. This just isn't how I was expecting my first day at a new school to go." the voice told me.
"You weren't expecting to be locked in a zombie safe room with a girl who is literally freaking out on the inside just talking to you." I stated.
"Oh, no. Being trapped in here I expected." the voice began, "But with the girl freaking out on the inside I didn't. Are you an introvert, or something?"
"Yeah." I replied. A shadow came closer to stand in front of me.
"I'm Zed. What's your name?" the figure questioned.
"I'm Y/N. Nice to meet you." I replied cheerfully. The lights turned on and I screamed.
"Zombie!" I punched him in the face and gasped, "Zed, I'm so sorry!" He pinched the bridge of his nose and then stared at me.
"My parents have always taught me that zombies are disgusting dead-eyed freaks but-" I began, "You're not hideous at all."
"Thanks. I'll take it." Zed smiled softly.
"There you are!" a voice called. I turned and saw Addison, Kylie, and four other people.
"Stay away from my sister, filthy zombie!" Kylie exclaimed. She pulled me away from Zed and I pushed her arms off me. Instead, Addison grabbed me. I looked at Zed with pitty in my eyes. The group pulled me out of the room. I felt bad for Zed, being treated that way. I won't let zombies be treated that way. Not now, not ever. Time for a change.
