Kyle was out, and Fiona was bored. And so was Jacky, he had nothing to do. The childrens channels were showing repeats, and they did not have the internet or any game consoles. Fiona sat and drank her drink whilst Jack played in the corner with his toy trucks. It was such a lovely day, The sun was shining and the birds were singing. There was children outside in thier swimwear, having a waterfight that made Fiona smile.

Then, she had an idea...

All she had to do was go into town, get a pair of swimming trunks for Jack, and they could hit the swimming baths. Maybe she could get Nina and 7 year old Forest to tag along, then they could have a big group outing to the outdoor one. Fiona smiled, it was about time Jack got into something.

"Hey, Jacky. Want to try out something new? I was thinking of going swimming with Nina and Forest. We need to go into town to get you some trunks first. You ready?"

"....yes" it took a while, but he replied. His speach was slow, but quick. You had to listen fast, or you would miss what he said. He stood up and grinned at his mum, following her to the porch. Fiona grabbed her jacket, and Jack's green bodywarmer. Jack put on the bodywarmer, whilst Fiona zipped up the short, thin boy.

It was a few hours later that Fiona and Jack found themselves in the changing room. Fiona found these really cool trunks that even Jack liked! It was a purple flame pattern with a white lightning bolt striking through it. It suited Jack, and fitted him quite comfortbly. They both had no problems changing infont of each other, and even helped each other put there clothes away. Fiona wore her purple and grey swimsuit she bought when she was younger. It still fitted her.

The two left there changing rooms and towards the lockers on the otherside. There, they met blonde haired Forest, and his mother Nina. Forest had a frown on his face, and before Fiona told him to turn it upside down, Nina stopped her.

"He had a little bit of a tantrum before coming here. He wanted to go to the themepark, but he is too small for the rides. So we came here instead"

Forest was wearing a purple and red striped swimming trunk, on a black background. His mum was wearing the same, but in a swimsuit again. After the four had a shower to clean the germs off of thier body, and Forest finally agreed to come swimming, the four went to the pool.

At the pool, the sight of water scared Jack. He hid behind his mothers leg to stop him from looking down. Forest looked at his younger friend. He wanted to play in the water with him, but could not. Forest decided he would try and help Jack.

"Hey there bud. You wanna play in the water? I did not at first...but come on! It ain't scary!"

Forest went behin Jack and pulled out some armbands for him. Jack focused his eys on the armbands.

"These will stop you from being afraid!"

Jack took them, and with the help of his mum put them on. This was the first time Jack let Fiona touch him. He was scared, and wanted help. Fiona smiled at him. Her young, handsome boy. He watched Nina and Forest get into the water. He was still scared, he went to the edge and sat on it, paddeling his feet in the water.

"Come on Jack! You can do it!" Forest reassured Jack. Forest was always like the big brother to Jack. They only met a few times, but Jack thought Forest was the best friend he ever had. Forest was begging Jack to jump, behind Jack, Fiona was doing the same, and it was at that point, Jack held onto the sides, and dropped into the water.

As soon as he hit the water he went under. He struggled to get back to the top, and Fiona dived in to get him. But it was too late....he already got back to the top of the water, with a huge smile on his face. He naturally kicked his legs and went a bit further. With the assistance of Forest, and the armbands, they both managed to hit the deep end.

"Not that hard!" Forest managed to say in between short gasps for breath.

It was a few hours later, that all four were in Nina's car, fully clothed, driving towards Fiona's house. Fiona had the time of her life! She saw her son swim for the first time ever, and he loved it! They both agreed that they would go swimming every week. She could not belive it, her autistic son who could not spell his name, not talk properly, hated being touched and had meltdowns actually enjoyed something. Maybe he would love this for the rest of his life.

The four got out of the car, for a well deserved takeaway meal for four.
