taehyung woke up to just another ordinary day. it was early, bright and he honestly had nothing better to do other than stroll around the streets of seoul. the boy looked outside and saw specks of white snow fly around the buildings. small snowflakes disintegrating in the cold thin air.

whilst in the middle of getting his coat on, he kept feeling his phone vibrate with tons of messages. irritated by its constant buzzing, taehyung looked at his phone screen to see several, wait, no, hundreds of messages wishing him a happy birthday.

he looked through the notifications unamused without cracking a single smile, until his eyes stopped and he dug his phone back into the pocket from whence it came. he held onto his keys tightly and locked the door before himself.

walking in white towers of snow, the boy could feel small pieces of ice landing on the bridge of his nose that seemed to not be covered by any sort of clothing. however, it didn't bother him at all. he liked the feeling of being cold, he grew used to it from an incident that happened years ago.

taehyung scratched his head and adjusted his beanie to fit perfectly. he stopped by the florist, where he used to buy most of his flowers from. he looked at the windows and saw one of his favourite persons, and decided he'd purchase a bouquet for today.

while walking in, the bell at the top of the door made a noise. the employee at the front counter prepared a smile and turned his back around to face the newcomer.

"hello, welcome to moonflowers, how may i help you-"

"hey happy." the boy smiled brightly, interrupting their sentence.

'happy' gasped, almost dropping the potted lilies that were occupying his hands. he gently placed them down and made his way around the counter to take a good look at taehyung.

"taehyung. it's really you?" he became wide eyed, looking at taehyung with much passion.

he caressed and squished the boy's cheeks with his own two hands softly, looking at his entire profile. had it changed since the last time he had seen taehyung?

the young boy nodded while his face was being invaded by large, but warm and welcoming hands. he didn't mind the sudden skinship though. they were friends afterall, weren't they?

"ah, you haven't changed one bit." 'happy' chuckled lightly, while finally letting go of taehyung's face.

"i could say the same for you too though." taehyung replied with sheer honesty.

the friend of the boy snickered with his hand covering his mouth. taehyung hadn't heard that same snicker for so many days, months, years. it was truly a blessing to be able to hear it another time.

"so, anyway... what brings you here, dongsaeng?" he stopped laughing but still kept his precious smile worn.

"i thought today was a good day to see my favourite hyung," taehyung joked while leaning onto the counter.

"hm, but i thought i was your eighth favourite hyung..?" 'happy' smirked looking back at the boy who gulped nervously.

"you still remember that?"

"mhm."

"darn, that's so embarrassing... ugh!"

"haha, don't sweat it. ranking honestly don't mean jack to me anyway. you could even rank me lower than eight."

"that'd be harsh of me. i mean, you've been boosted up since these couples years you know..?"

"really? what number?"
