Queens-born Ruby had lived cautiously, aware of the growing population of superheroes in the USA. She figured that her local superhero was friendly enough to pose little threat to her neighbourhood- that is, until a dispute in the streets blows up her workplace and ultimately her life.
Angry and mournful, Ruby is thrust into a world made all the more terrifying by her newly impaired hearing. The only comfort she gets is through the comfort of knowing Spiderman's identity and sharing the experience with her classmate.
