Nicholas Buron,an 11-year old boy, sat on his grandmother's front yard patiently.The wind blew through his brown hair as he played with the flowers.He picked up one flower at a time and arranging them in order.As soon as he heard footsteps, he looked up.His blue eyes sparkled with joy as he saw his friend Wyn Fresle, a 12-year old girl with red hair and brown eyes.
"Wyn!Hurry up!"Nicholas said joyously as he stood up.Nicholas waved at Wyn and Wyn picked up the pace.Wyn started running and dived into the flowers. "Hey!I arranged those!" Nicholas angrily said.Wyn just laughed silently and made flower angels.After a while, she stood up and asked while taking the flowers off of her clothes.
"Ready to play?"
"Been ready since I woke up!"Joyously, Nicholas said.Both of them walked inside the house and through the front door.Wyn was greeted by Nicholas' grandmother.
"Hello there Wyn, I'll make you two snacks, don't play yet,eat first."
"Sure thing!"Wyn and Nicholas sat down on the couch, waiting for the snacks.Playing hand-games while waiting, too.When the snacks were ready, both of them jumped down the couch and started eating.They drank the orange juice and ate the cookies rapidly so they can start playing.As soon as they were done, they were deciding which game to play.
"Just pick a game already!"Nicholas angrily said."You're the one to decide today after all!"Wyn had a hard time to think due to Nicholas.She decided they would play tag first, and then different kinds of games after it.
After hours of playing, they were tired and Wyn had no more ideas in her head."You pick, Nico."Wyn tiredly said."Hide and seek!We haven't played that in a long time!"Nico directly replied.Wyn sat up straight and nodded in agreement.They played rock paper and scissors to decide who was the seeker, and who was the one to hide.Nicholas ended up being the one to seek.Nicholas gave Wyn 20 seconds to hide and as soon as Nicholas started counting slowly, Wyn panicked about where to hide.
Wyn ran as fast as she could to the end of the hallway.She went in the last room and when she had a hold of the knob, she felt weird.She turned it and went inside, she closed the door behind her and searched for a light switch.When she found it, she flicked it up and the room lit up.There was nothing in the room except for another door.
"I'm coming!"Nicholas yelled.Wyn could hear his footsteps getting closer,as soon as Nicholas was in front of the door, he opened it hard like he kicked it open and Wyn fell to the floor.
"Hey!"Wyn exclaimed as she stood up the floor."Sorry,can you get out now?Grandma says we're not supposed to be in here."Nicholas apologized.Wyn ran towards the door and twisted the knob open.Suddenly, Wyn froze.Nicholas walked towards her and he froze too.They stood shoulder-to-shoulder,they slowly moved towards the dark empty room, hand-in-hand, both shaking.As they entered, they felt the darkness surround them.They closed their eyes, when they opened them, they looked around and realized,they weren't in the house anymore.
They were rather in another universe.
