Chapter 2
Does The Truth Really Set You Free?
I awoke the morning before the day we were supposed to leave, and smiled at my three friends who hadn't woke up yet. Cass was asleep on the floor next to my bed, her feet perfectly placed right next to Jackie's face, which was the only thing you could see of her since she was wrapped in a giant quilt she had brought with her from America. Spencer was asleep in the chair in the corner with his feet propped up on Jackie's hip. Moving very carefully, trying not to wake them, I made my out of the room and toward the kitchen to find my mom already up, and making breakfast. She looked over with a smile as I entered the kitchen and pulled myself onto one of the stools on the other side of the counter. " Are your friends still asleep? She asked and I nodded.
" Are you going to tell them?"
" Should I?" I questioned hesitantly as I started nibbling on a piece of bacon.
" They are your friends, they will understand."
" I don't want to scare them."
She placed a plate in front of me and I smiled when I saw the pancake face with a bacon smile, egg eyes and a blueberry nose. " Keeping it from them, will only hurt them more, Em." She told me before she returned to the eggs frying on the stove.
My friends came into the kitchen a few minutes later for breakfast, and my mom made them each their own pancake smile. " These are so good." Cass marveled. " Thanks Mrs. R."
" Your very welcome, but I was never married. Please, call me Linda."
After breakfast, we helped my mum clean up and then went outside to enjoy our last day before school.

We had only been on the train an hour, when Cass let out a gasp." Sweet Jesus. What is that?" She cried. Spencer, Jackie, and I leaned over to see what she was looking at just in time to see a bright blue car fly passed. " A flying car?" Jackie questioned in confused shock.
" Is that Ron driving?" Spencer asked as the car disappeared above us.
" Why didn't we go with them?" Cass demanded as we sat back down, just before the trolley came around. " Because the train has snacks." I responded tossing them each a chocolate frog, but when I reached for the Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans, Spencer shook his head. " Please, please, not Beans." He pleaded. " My taste buds still aren't the same."
At the end of our first year, Spencer thought that he would down an entire box at once, and had spent the year of the year feast in the hospital wing with a major stomach ache. I grabbed one of everything, minus the beans, and then returned to the compartment.
It was several hours later, that the train pulled into the station and we all got off. I caught Spencer glancing around as if he were looking for someone, and raised an eyebrow. " something wrong?" I asked. His hair burned pink and I grinned as he blushed just as bright as his hair. I linked arms with him, and Cass took his other arm, and Jackie followed sweet by joining arms with Cass. Then, the four of us made our way toward the castle.
Had I known the events that were about to take place, I would have turned and ran back to the train.
