Pointed Toes tipped across the room. The young ballerinas danced in perfect sync with their partners. One group just couldn't get it together. They'd either They'd either bicker or step on each other. It wasn't working. Madame Tiffany noticed it quickly. "Y/n come here for a second" she commanded. The young girl hobbled her way over to the instructor. She knelt to the girls' height. "You're a great dancer, can you do me a big favor and switch partners with Mina," She pointed over to the little girl with short brown hair. "Who?" The girl spoke softly. "The one paired with Thomas," the little girl looked over to the boy staring right at her. Brown curly hair and dark brown eyes. "Yes Madame," she responded. She barely took her eyes off the boy. "I'm Y/n," she said sticking her hand out. The boy blinked, snapping out of his gaze. "I'm Thomas, my friends call me Tom," he shook her hand politely. "Nice to meet you," She said sweetly. Paired with a grin on her face. On cue, the pairs would begin the routine they'd perform next month. It started out fine. They worked out pretty well. Until Tom misstepped. "I'm so sorry," he said politely. Not yelling at Y/n to straighten up. "It's my fault, not yours," She responded. Thomas gulped, he thought for sure she'd be mad...but she was everything except that. Thomas kept looking at Y/n. He kept looking at her eyes. For an eight-year-old, what could he be thinking about? "Tom focus," she whispered. Snapping him back to reality. "Sorry," he whispered back. Y/n kept trying to teach him the right moves. Yes, he'd mess up a few times. But that's why she was there, to help him instead of getting frustrated. The class was dismissed and immediately Tom followed Y/n to find out more about her. "Wait...Y-Y/n," Tom stumbled running down the stairs. "Yeah?" "Be my partner for the show?" He asked bluntly. "Ok," she stared at him blankly. "Thank you thank you thank you, you don't get how much that means to me," he hugged her tightly. She was very confused. "What did I do?" she asked slowly. Tom backed up. "You were nice to me, not yelling under your breath when I'd mess up," he looked down to the ground. Fiddling with his fingers. "Why would I, you're still learning," "I just want to thank you," he still wasn't making proper eye contact. "Don't mention it," she smiled. "Friends?" Tom asked finally looking back up with a smile. "Friends," she shook his hand. Within minutes these two were inseperable. They had a month to prep for this show, in that month...they already had their own handshake, their own inside jokes. And have had at least 2-3 playdates together that went past their bedtimes. Y/n and Tom were so close. What could possibly break them apart? The answer is nothing...hopefully nothing will split such a close bond.
