It was about an hour later when Kelsey woke up. Groggily and sleepy she walked into the kitchen and poured her self a glass of apple juice. She has this superstition that apple juice is better for hangovers than anything else in the world.

I waited for her to finish her juice before I mentioned Tyler.

"Hey Kels" Speaking quietly, not really sure how to say this "Tyler Seguin posted our picture together on his Instagram"

"what?! you're joking right?" For someone being hungover, she was shouting pretty loud.

"No, I'm not kidding, I'm not even sure why he did it" I don't know why but I was just so nervous talking about it. "I have like a hundred new followers and it just keeps growing"

Kelsey just stared at me for a good minute, probably thinking of something to say.

Finally breaking her gaze on me she asked, "Did he dm you or anything? Like, did he tell you why he posted the picture of you?"

"I mean yea he sent me a message but he didn't really say why he posted it. He just messaged me saying "It was actually three shots of vodka" which is really weird because that means he noticed me before I approached him and I was literally trying to think of a rational way to explain that, it's probably because I was wearing his jersey right?"

Now I was just full on rambling and Kelsey knew that once I started I couldn't stop. I started pacing the floors of this living room.

"I'm overthinking this right? He just needed a new picture to post and so he posted that, nothing big. I mean he's probably posted pictures of him with fans before right?" I was basically pleading for her to say yes.

"Well, how did you reply to him? Can I see the messages?"

Hearing her speak in such a calm voice helped me calm down.

"Yeah let me just go get my phone." I could feel myself walking extra slow to my phone, of course, I was thrilled that he messaged me and that I actually had a semi-conversation with him but it was something so new and nerve-racking for me. I'd never been good at talking to people in general and especially people I like.

I picked up my phone and quickly looked at the new notifications I got.

"KELS" I yelled, I had gotten another message from him. I had a hard time replying to him earlier and I just knew I was going to have trouble replying to him now.

She came running into my room so fast I barely caught what she said. All I got was something along the lines of "tell me" and "what is it"

I couldn't believe it, I even made Kelsey read it just to be sure. I thought I was delusional just reading his message.

"I don't mean to come off as blunt, but do you want to get dinner with me sometime?"

He asked me that. I can't believe it. He sent that to me almost an hour ago, why was I so stupid to leave my phone in my room?

Just as Kelsey was handing me my phone back he sent another message.

Unless you have a boyfriend I just assumed you didn't

I mean not in a bad way I guess I was just hoping you didn't

But anyway you can just forget I asked unless you want too.

"Oh my god, Kelsey he asked me on a date oh my god Kelsey what do I say? I mean of course I want to say but how do I reply? Do I just say sure all nonchalantly or what?" She could tell I was starting to panic as I started pacing again.

"Just say sure, stop overthinking it and reply before he thinks you're not interested." She smiled while nudging my phone back into my hands.

Oh, Yea I'd love to get dinner.
