I Want My Mum And Dad!

My phone vibrated in my pocket as I walked down the stairs. I opened it and read

‘She can’t make it, you in?’ Alex had been texting me all day, and I have to admit he is kind of cute. Kind of.

I started a new message. 

‘Sounds like a plan! Do we meet there?’ I closed my phone and walked into the kitchen.

On one of the chairs was my leather jacket I grabbed it and opened the door to go outside. 

I walked over to the shed where I over heard Rouge and Billy talking. 

“I don’t understand why the police think it’s her.” Billy’s voice said with a croak in his voice.

“She wouldn’t hurt a fly!”

“It’s OK we’ll get through this, don’t worry.” Rouge said trying to calm him down. I stood in the door way pretending I didn’t hear their conversation. 

“Hey I’m going out with a friend for pizza is that all right?”

“I don’t think this is the time right now Val, you have just been put as a suspect for murder!” Rouge said shaking her head.

“You can’t honestly think it was me can you?” I asked frowning taking a step back.

“Of course not sweetie we just don’t think it will be good for you to go out right now.” Billy took over while rouge sat down sitting taking a sip from her mug. 

“I won’t be gone for long I promise!” I moaned.

“Will Claudia be there?” Shit, they won’t let me go unless she’s there.

“Um, no but I’ll be with her brother and he will make sure I’ll come home safe!” Why did I say that?

“Isn’t that the boy you were with last night at the party?” Billy asked intensely.

I nodded with puppy dog eyes.

“Is it going to be just you and him?” Rouge said now standing next to Billy with his arm around her waist.

I shook my head, even though I have no idea.

Rouge nodded. “Fine you can go but be back by two, OK?” 

I jumped up and down and gave both of them a kiss on the cheek. I rushed across the lawn to the back door and hopped inside. I opened my phone seeing a message waiting for me.

‘No need to, I’m picking you up, and Claudia can come. Want you to meet some people :) .’

I smiled and put my jacket and heels on. I heard a car honk outside and I opened the front door. Alex waved at me from his shiny convertible. Damn I wish I had his car. In the back seat sat two girls and a guy with Claudia in squished between them. She didn’t look happy. I walked down the front steps and down to the car.

“Hop in babe.” Claudia said. At least she looked happy to see me.

 I took the front seat. The girl to Claudia’s right shuffled with impatience.

“Hey baby!” She pulled on Alex’s hair. I felt a bit uncomfortable.

“Yeah?” He said

“Who is that?” She pointed at me with a clueless look on her face. She looked like she was the girl who could fall for anything. 

“That is Claud’s, friend Valentine” He said back.

“Your names Val-en-tine?” She said like she didn’t speak English and it was a new word for her. I nodded still looking forward. I felt someone move closer to me and I felt warm breathe on my neck.
