Chapter 12 - Hide and Seek

(current time - older)

"That was the last time Titanic ever saw daylight..." Rose started looking down sadly. I bit my lip looking down sadly as well.

"So we're up to the night of the sinking 6 hours to go" Mr. Lovett said.
"Incredible. There's Smith and he's got the iceberg warning in his fucking hand, excuse me, his hand, and he's ordering more speed!" Mr. Bodine said amazed.
"26 years of experience working against him. He thinks if there's anything big enough to sink the ship he'll have enough time to turn. The ships too big and too small a rudder, there's a corner on a damn. Everything he knows is wrong......"

(flash back)
So Tommy and I had gone to my room, there was an outside area. The stars were out and Tommy and I were just sitting outside together.
"I want to take a few things with me when we land..so we'll have money to spend y'know? I've always wanted to open my own book shop.... it's stupid, I know..everyone thinks a woman who can read is troublesome but-"
"I think it's a great idea love....I'm not like other men lass...I'll support ya in whatever ya do"  He said. I stared at him for the longest time...my heart was pounding in my ears..I couldn't focus on anything else.. I realized then and there....
"Tommy can I tell you something?"I said extremely nervous. He looked over to me and smiled.. his smile made my stomach do flips
"You can tell me what ever yer heart desires lass....I'll never judge" He said, gently touching my hand on the railing. I smiled at him happily
"I think I love you" I admitted finally. He looked so shocked, but so happy. Tommy then pulled me into a tight hug, kissing my forehead.
"I think I love you too Jess...I really do" He whispered in my ear. I felt a wave of relief and happiness wash over me. I looked up at him, staring into his big beautiful eyes, as he looked down at me, his goofy smile shining bright and proud. He pulled me tightly against his body, and then got real close to my face. My face began to flush, as the night was getting colder.
"Let me show ya what a real Irish kiss feels like" He said and then kissed me so deeply and so passionately, my legs were like jello. I wrapped my arms around his neck, lacing my fingers in his thick curly brown hair. We began to kiss deeper, frenching here and there. After a while I pulled back and started to worry...
Tommy could tell right away
"You're thinking about earlier eh?" Tommy asked.
"Yeah...I'm scared they're gonna try to rip us apart...I don't want to lose you now" I said honestly. He pulled me in a hug again
"You'll always be safe when yer with me lass. I love ya. I'm no' goin anywhere. I promise" Tommy said pecking my lips again. I smiled at this.
"You know what I really wanna do someday?"I asked staring at the ocean passing us
"What's that love?"he asked standing behind me, his chest touching my back, as his hands laced with mine on top of the railing
"I really, really want to go to Ireland one day. I've always wanted to go...i never really told you this but.. my mother.. she hailed from Dublin" I said looking back at him. His expression was surprised at first but he instantly kissed me
"Well Tha' explains the sass ya got in ya. We'll go one day. Ya can meet me siblings" He
said happily.
"How many do you have?" I asked truly curious.
"Just a younger sister named Emily and 2 older brothers, Mike, and Finn" He said. I turned around to look at him, with curiosity.
"How old are they?" I asked hoping he'd tell me more about his life in Ireland.
"Aye, Emily is yer age. 19, married with a child o' her own" my jaw dropped.
"She's already married and has a child?" I asked with surprise. He chuckled a bit
"Aye, that's normal in Ireland to marry early and already have kids" He said. I nodded with interest
"And what about your brothers?"I asked
"Oh, Mike is thirty-two and married with 3 kids. He's got his own tree cuttin business. A good one too" Tommy said making me giggle.
"That sounds interesting. 3 kids. Wow. I'm sure he's happy" I said looking up at Tommy with such love
"Aye...he loves his wife and children with all his heart...Mary is sweet as can be. His wife. They married when he was just 21 years old" Tommy said watching my expressions.
