New Years

HAPPY NEW YEAR! I hope everyone had a blast last night and has a good day today! I don't really have a plan for this story, just kind of rolling with it. Hope you enjoy it :)

Eddie's apartment is decorated for a New Years Eve party.

Lights shining like star light are hung across the ceiling, board games are set out on the table, a beer pong table, a radio lightly plays music. 

But all of it has gone untouched. Eddie sits at his kitchen table, tossing a ping pong ball into a cup. His phone dings with a message from Anne.

Sorry me and Dan couldn't make it. Happy New Year Eddie. 

Eddie tosses his phone down on the table, letting out a heavy sigh. 

Eddie.

"Yeah V?"

Can I eat the heads of all the people who didn't show?

Eddie lightly snickered, shaking his head. 

"I don't really know why I expected anyone to show up....everyone's scared of me now. Or they just think I'm crazy." 

But I am here Eddie. Remember.

"I know V." 

A black substance encases Eddies legs, forcing him up and towards the coffee table where the games are waiting to be played. 

Let's play one.

"Really?" For the first time tonight Eddie sounded happy. So they sat on the couch, setting up monopoly. Venom materialized outside of Eddie's body, sitting beside him. Eddie snatched up boardwalk as soon as he could, Venom tried his best to understand the game.

"So since you pass go, you collect $200." 

Eddie, this game makes no sense. 

"Did you wanna do something else V? I appreciate you trying to cheer me up but we don't have to play." There was a loud boom outside and Venom slipped back inside of Eddie's body. He can't protect them without Eddie. 

What was that?

"It's okay V, probably just fireworks." 

Fireworks?

Eddie go up from the sofa, walking towards his balcony. He opened the door, a cool breeze hitting him. He stepped out onto his sad small excuse for a balcony. He leaned against the black railing and just a few blocks away a firework shot up into the sky. The sound echoed through the night, the colors shining bright. Red mixing with white, blue and green. Venom materialized, standing beside Eddie. His mouth in a huge grin. 

Eddie, it's beautiful. 

"It is. I guess this isn't such a bad night." Eddie smiled as Venom watched the fireworks lighting up the night sky. Venom turned to Eddie, he opened his mouth like he was going to say something but shut it again. Looking back up at the sky. But Eddie could feel Venom's tendrils wrapping around his body as Venom pulled him closer. Eddie softly smiled as the let himself relax against Venom. 

Eddie. Happy New Years. 

"Happy New Years big guy."
