"Daaaaaad, we're going to be late!"
Keith buries his head a little bit deeper into the pillow.
"Princess, give me a few more minutes, alright?"
"Fine, I'm going out by myself!"
Hearing that, he jumps out of bed. Quickly buttoning up a red dress shirt and slipping on some black slacks, he runs out of the bedroom, and sees his little girl in a pink dress jumping for the door handle. He laughs quietly to himself, glad that she was too short to reach it.
"Come here Kora!" Keith yells, running toward the front door, arms outstretched. Kora squeals and runs away from him, giggling.
It doesn't take long for Keith to catch her after running around their apartment, and with Kora in his arms, they enter her room.
"You're excited for your first day of kindergarten, huh?" Keith says, putting her down on the ground. Kora nods vigorously, and jumps on her bed.
He takes her sparkly backpack, and puts in a few pencils, notebooks, and binders. Zipping it up, he swings it over his shoulder and bends down to grab Kora's hand.
Leaving the bedroom, they walk out to the kitchen. Now remembering that Kora didn't have breakfast, Keith grabs an Uncrustables PB&J from the fridge, and heads toward the door.
They head toward the elevator outside of their apartment, and go down to the first floor where Keith's car was parked. Opening the side door for Kora, he buckles her in the seat before making his way to the driver's seat.
Keith backs out of the parking garage and drives to the elementary school five minutes away, Garrison Elementary. Arriving at the bustling school, he parks the car, takes Kora out of the back, and walks up to the school with her in hand.
Walking through the front doors of the school, Keith sees that the building is fairly new, and nice. The walls painted white, there were hallways to the left, front, and right of him. He begins to look for Kora's homeroom.
"Well, that's 119, we're looking for 127..." Keith mutters to himself.
"Dad, look! Over there!" Kora points at the room all the way in the corner, with a small plaque with "127" hanging over the doorway. A crowd of parents and kids start to enter the room.
Keiths bends down and ruffles her hair. "Nice job Princess!" He smiles.
They make their way over to the classroom, and once they enter the room, they hear a bubbly voice talking.
"Hi Luke! You're going to be sitting right here, next to Dennis! Oh you must be Olivia! Hello Miss Jennings, you must be Olivia's mother? Alright, Olivia, your seat is right here!"
Keith scanned the room, trying to find the person talking. He knew that it was the teacher, as he was the one helping the kids find their seats.
All of a sudden, a tanned man in a nice light blue dress shirt and khakis comes up to him and Kora. He looks down at Kora, and immediately smiles.
"Hi, can you tell me your name?" He says while bending down to her level.
Kora's outgoing personality shines through. "My name's Kora! Kora Kogane!"
"Nice to meet you! I'm Mr. McClain, nice to meet you Kora!" He says beaming with Kora smiling right back at him.
Standing up again, Mr. McClain faces Keith. Sticking his hand out for a handshake, he smiles.
"Nice to meet you Mr. Kogane! I'm Lance McClain, your daughter's teacher for the year!" He says with a grin.
"Oh crap." Keith thought.
"He's hot."
