"In my dreams, you're with me"
Harley's POV/dream
(Age 14)
"Hunter! Wake up, they're here. We need to go!" I shouted at my brother, shaking him to wake up.
"Woah, what's the matter Harley?" He asked standing up, clearly worried.
"The Vipers, they're here! Come on we need to go. The house is burning down!" I shouted once again, slipping on a pair of shoes and dragging Hunter out of his bedroom with me, running into the hallway.
Running down the stairs, Hunter suddenly stopped, "Wait, where's mum and dad?"
"I don't know Hunter! They're bedroom door was already opened when I came to get you, I'm sure they're already out anyway. Now come on! Let's go!" I shouted, pushing him towards the door.
"No Harley, I'll go look for them. I love you Harley, if I'm not out in 10 minutes, forget about me!" He said, pushing me out of the door, quickly shutting it in my face.
"No Hunter," I turned around too see my mum and dad staring at me from the gates "Hunter they're not in there! Come out, they're okay. Hunt-"
I was cut off by the sound of a deafening explosion. The force of it pushing me away form the house onto the gravelled front yard.
Oh my god.
"Tyler, they're okay, you can come out now." I shouted, refusing to believe he was gone.
"Come on Hunter, you can come out now." I whispered to myself, my heart breaking slowly.
My dad came up behind me and placed a hand on my shoulder. But it felt like it was burning me."You were going to leave us to die! You didn't even come to wake us up! He stayed in there to make sure you were safe, this is your fault!" I screamed, my brother was gone.
I looked up at the roaring flames of the inferno that claimed my home, along with my brother inside it. The crumbling mansion resembled the will I had to live.
I shot up, sweat covering my forehead while the horrid events replayed in my head. A few tears spilled from my eyes, before I was full on sobbing.
Sometimes I wished it was me that died instead of him, he could have made something of himself. But instead I was left, and what have I become?
I've became an empty shell of a once happy girl. I've become a monster that killed her own parents to avenge her dead brother. I've become a demon that roamed the streets, looking for her next victim to rip the souls out of. I'd become a failure.
Hunter was probably ashamed of me, I don't blame him. I'm nothing of what I could've been. I stared up at the ceiling, silently praying for a better day, and that Hunter was okay.
"I'm hungry, Ryder unlock this stupid door!" I shouted, hoping he heard it.
"Jesus woman! I'm coming, I'm coming." He replied as I heard him rattling with some keys.
I stepped out of the room once he'd unlocked the door. "Is the food ready?" I asked, letting out a loud yawn, quickly adding a sorry as he laughed beside me.
"Yeah it is, follow me love." Ryder said, walking down the hallway as I fell into step beside him.
"After you've eaten, you can to do whatever you want except leave, you can have a look around the estate, just ask maid if you get lost, I'll be in my office." He explained.
"What happened to the man that was in the cell with me?" I wondered.
"Barely alive, he was from The Vipers, we caught him lurking around the outside of the property." He told me.
"Why didn't you kill him straight away?" Surely that would've been easier.
"We got some important answers out of him, and then left him to give him the false hope that he was getting out alive. He was going going to die soon anyway, I thought I'd might aswell speed the up the process."
We went down the stairs and entered the kitchen. It had a white glistening floor, with black counters, multiple draws and cupboards that were stocked with food and kitchen appliances.
Ryder turned to me, "I didn't know what you liked, so I just had one of the maids make pizza. Everyone likes pizza."
"What type of pizza is it?"
"Just pepperoni," He paused. "Why have been you crying? I can see it from your eyes, they're all red."
"Wouldn't you cry if you'd been taken from your home?" Even if I was crying, he doesn't care, he's just trying to be a decent man.
"Yeah I would cry. But you kill multiple people without even batting an eyelash. So there's got to be a real reason why you're crying."
I scoffed. "I asked you to let me out of my room, not be my best friend. You seem to act like we'll start plaiting each other's hair and talk about the latest celebrity gossip."
"Are you on your period?" Tyrone asked as he walked in with Jake by his side and stood infront of us.
I flung my knife at him, it barely missing his neck and landing in the wall behind him.
"Boss are you sure you want her to stay in this house? I think she'd be better locked up in a high-security mental asylum." He looked like he was going to pee his pants.
"Tyrone, I think you need to go to the toilet. You look like you're constipated." Jake snickered.
Ryder rolled his eyes, "Tyrone, you're such a sissy. Why don't you go and change you're princess panties. I'll be in the office with crazy over here once you're done."
"Be careful, the big scary dragon might come out and eat you." Poor guy. Tyrone grumbled and then left, Jake quickly following behind him.
"Eat love, like I said, we will speak in my office once you're finished."
This chapter wasn't the best and was quite boring, but the next chapter will be more intimate, and you'll also meet a girl, but she's not going to be around for long.
Hope you're all having a good day.
Keira.
