No one moved. So one dared to utter a word. It was like everyone was frozen in time, waiting for someone to act first. Rebecca intended to make the first if she could.

Slowly but surely, Leo's head turned to Rebecca. He met her icy gaze with one of surprise. They only stayed like that for a moment, because soon his eyes trailed down to his back, where her knife was pointed directly at him. She had it pressed against him, poking but not penetrating his clothes. He looked back up at her as if he was seeing if she was serious. She most certainly was.

A devilish smile formed on her face, making Leo gulp.

"Now, what was that about coming back for us later?" she asked sweetly.

None of them spoke. Garrett looked just as surprised as the rest of them, but he seemed to have relaxed a bit. Rebecca glanced his way for a moment, making it obvious that she was looking at him to the others. She narrowed her eyes at their hands that still gripped him. She tsked at them, shaking her head disapprovingly.

"Now, why is this poor man being held against his will?" When none of them answered, she sighed and added, "If none of you will talk..."

"No!" the man on Garrett's left exclaimed, before clearing his throat, "h-he was following us and jumped us while we were on a walk and-".

"Hold your tongue, Jarin!" Cedric shouted, giving Rebecca a nervous cast. It was obvious to all of them that he told a lie, but Rebecca just shook her head.

"I find it hard to believe that his gentleman would be as stupid as to attack three men on his own. And for what reason do you think he had to do so, hmm?"

The three visibly glanced at each other, trying to figure out some kind of answer. Rebecca sighed once more and shook her head, "Seeing that you three have no idea on how to respond, I think it's fair to conclude that you are in the wrong, right?"

Leo gulped again, "Well, y-you see here-".

"Enough," Rebecca interrupted harshly, "I've heard enough from you morons. If you're incapable of admitting your faults, I suppose you three deserve what you've asked for."

"N-no, please m-my lady, w-we meant no harm," Cedric stuttered, sweating from is forehead to his chin. Rebecca couldn't help but smile at his fear, but she knew they still needed to learn a lesson. She took a deep breath.

"Fine, but I have a feeling that you three still need some kind of lesson to be learned from this," they all looked uncomfortable, which was a start. Rebecca swiftly took her knife away from Leo's back and put her arm around his neck while using her other hand to place her weapon at his neck. He didn't dare move his free hand to his neck, trembling viciously. She leaned in towards his ear and whispered minaciously, "Take your hand away from his neck." He obeyed, letting it fall to his stomach as if he had been stabbed in the back. She continued, "Tell your assistants to let go of him." Predictably, he coughed out-

"Release him," and they did. Garrett fell to the ground, coughing a little and rubbing his neck and shoulders. Rebecca grinned evilly, "Good man. Now," she brought him closer to her knife and growled in his ear, "don't ever come around here again. Don't talk to us, don't follow us, don't even look in our direction. If I see you or your men in these alleyways again, you will have made a terrible mistake, and I will not hesitate to shove this in your back when the chance comes around. Understand me?"

He nodded earnestly, his eyes nearly popping out of his head. From her standing position she dropped him, letting him slam into the ground like a doll falling off a bed. She watched him crawl away from her quickly and stagger to his feet to where his men were standing. They all stared at her fearfully. She just hoped that'll last long enough for them to escape. She faced them, glaring daggers at them before snarling, "Leave!", and observed them running away.
