Re-cap:

‘No no no no no you can’t leave!’

‘and why the hell not? You don’t own me’ I snapped, getting up and walking away from him. Ugh he was so annoying! And I’d only been talking to him for a few minutes.

‘yeah well Blake says you can’t leave.’ He yelled after me dumbly.

I turned to face him and smirked.

‘I don’t know who the hell this "Blake" guy is he sure as hell doesn’t tell me wha-‘

I was abruptly interrupted by a fake cough behind me. I turned around and guess was in front of me. yup the oh so heroic guy with the blue eyes. Great.

‘I was just saying…um’ I stuttered dumbly. Ugh those damn gorgeous eyes!

Blake lifted his gaze above my head and glared at the guy behind me

‘Alec!’

So that was his name, geeze it wouldn’t of been so hard for him to tell me that.

‘I told you to watch her!’ Blake hissed

I glared up at Blake in shock.  He had got to be kidding me.

‘Watch me? What am I a dog?!’ I huffed in disbelief.

Completely ignoring me Blake held his gaze with Alec. I looked over my shoulder and watched Alec shift uncomfortably from one foot to the other staring intensely at the ground. With a huff I pushed past Blake and made my way toward the dense forest.

‘Where do you think you’re going?’ Blake yelled out after me.

‘I need to find my family.’ I yelled back continuing to make my way toward the tree line.

‘When I found you there was no one else around, trust me.’ I heard him call out to me.

I spun and faced him, folding my arms across my chest.

‘And why should I trust you? I don’t know anything about you!’

He was silent for a moment and I watched his face closely as a small crease formed between his eyebrows. He opened his mouth as if to speak but quickly snapped it shut. I could feel a smirk start to creep onto my face as I began to turn back towards the forest.

‘no no no wait!’

I groaned inwardly to myself. Why couldn’t he just leave me alone?! I needed to find my family.

‘What?’ I snapped angrily at him

Combing a hand through his dark brown hair he sighed.

‘It’s not safe.’

Raising an eyebrow I gave his a questioning look ‘Not safe?’

‘He’s right. It’s not safe down here.’ I heard Alec call out from behind Blake.

‘At least let us come with you, we can protect you.’ Blake stated walking towards me. I looked slowly between Alec and Blake. Alec had mousy brown hair and pale blue eyes. He didn’t look nearly as strong as Blake but he had a kind face and I felt I could trust him.

‘Okay fine’ I sighed in defeat ‘but we need to get going A.S.A.P!’

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I slowly trudged behind Blake and Alec as they lead me through the forest to where they had set up camp. As we walked I suddenly had a twisting feeling in my stomach, what it Jamie and Kyle were separated? or in danger? To put my mind at ease I just had to hope that wherever they were they’re together and safe. We slowly came to a clearing and their camp came into view. It was fairly small and consisted of two tents, a fire pit and some bags with cutlery and clothes spilling out. I frowned as I took in the scene before me. Only two tents? I could feel Blake staring at my face I looked at the camp.

‘You look confused.’

I turned to face Blake.

‘It’s just that…there are only two tents.’ I slowly stated.

‘Not many people still live down here on the ground, most live up there in the big city.’ Alec called out as he wrestled with a sleeping bag to get it in its cover. It’s a miracle he’d survived down here all this time. I turned back to face Blake.

‘Then why are you guys still living down here? Why didn’t you move to the city like everyone else?’

I watched Blake’s face go completely blank.

‘We had our reasons.’

I decided not to continue on with the subject and walked over to Alec as he continued to attack the sleeping bag. A small creased formed on his forehead as he focused on the sleeping bag.

‘Alec do you want some help?’ I asked feeling worried for the sleeping bag as Alec twisted and pulled it.

‘Nah I’ve got this.’ He panted.

I raised my eyebrows and sat down in front of him. After a few more minuted of struggling I started to laugh.

‘Alec are you sure you don’t want some help? I asked trying and failing to control my laughter.

He sighed and looked down at the sleeping bag

‘Fine, it’s your burden now’ He huffed as he got up and started helping Blake sort clothes into bags.

I looked between the two boys. What had I gotten myself into…
