"Momma...Daddy...." I called out. "He's Here."

As I lead O'shea into the living room, my dad and mother stood to their feet with soft and welcoming smiles on their face. I just knew daddy was gonna act like a sicko but he fooled me.

Well, at least for right now.

"O'shea. This is my mother and father. Jarvis and Lauren." I said, introducing my boyfriend to my parents. " This is O'shea."

"It's a pleasure to meet ya" my daddy said, extending his long hand to O'shea.

"Pleasure is mine, sir." He replied back, giving a firm handshake.

"I've heard so much about you O'shea "

O'shea looked at me. " I hope they were good things, sir."

I bit down on my bottom lip as my daddy cracked a smile at O'shea. He wrapped his arm around his shoulder and led him into the living room.

"You like sports?" I heard my dad ask him as his voice trailed off as they disappeared into the living room.

I looked at my mom who winked at me. " You aint got nothing to worry about. I never have seen ya dad wrap his arm around no one and lead them to the living room, asking if they like sports. I guarantee you that he is going to show O'shea the hall of fame from his college days"

"As if he wanna see that" I rolled my eyes, chuckling.

I helped mommy set the table as my dad and O'shea spent the next 20 minutes laughing and talking. It didn't seem forced. He was really relaxed and daddy was laughing as if he was talking to an old friend. That made me feel so freaking good, ya'll don't even know!

I mean, I never had a guy like O'shea like me and now my parents like him and his parents like me? this is too surreal. I need to just learn to accept things for what it is. Just cause you're a little bigger than most doesn't mean you're not able to find love.

Once the table was finished and all the food was set, we washed up and prepared to eat at the table together. I sat next to O'shea as mommy and daddy sat across from us at the table.

We laughed about different things; movies, music and even talked to us about school. That's the last thing I want to talk about but it seems like the typical thing for parents to do.

"So O'shea" My dad said as he took a swig of his Beer. " What you taking up at School?"

"Architectural drafting" O'shea replied.

"Oooh...handsome and smart" My mom tossed in with a smile on her face before placing a spoonful of candied yams into her mouth.

O'shea blushed as he thanked my mother. " Thank you, Mrs. Daniels. I appreciate that."
