Laura and I walked into the house to find Hunter on the floor, but we seen Kayla trying to help him.

"Kayla, why is your brother on the floor?"

"Dad, I went to the kitchen to get us a drink and I suddenly heard a bang. So l ran in and found him like this, l have no idea what happened!" I run over to Kayla and hug her tightly to try and calm her down.

"It's ok, sweetheart go over to mum and stay with her, I'm gonna help Hunter, don't panic!" she was still crying heavily, but nodded and walked over to Laura. Laura took Kayla into her arms and gently squeezed her.

l got on the floor next to Hunter, seeing his body not moving, it broke my heart. I put my ear next to his mouth but I couldn't him breathing or feel his hot breath. I placed my hands on his chest, I then pumped his chest, I started a few gentle ones hoping for some result, but nothing happened. I started to panic heavily, l looked up to find Kayla crying deeply into Laura's chest. l need to bring him back. There was only one thing I could think of, l pinched his nose gently and pulled his neck from behind. I made sure his airways were clear and again gently opened his mouth. I placed my own mouth over his and blew air into his body. I done this a few times, but there was still no results. l could feel tears running down my cheeks. I didn't know what to think.

My son is gone.

Kayla lost her big brother.

l couldn't help my own flesh and blood.

Laura, Kayla and l lost Hunter.

l picked him up and cuddled him tightly, never wanting to let him go. l was rockinq him back & forward in my arms.

"Dad" l looked up at Laura wondering if I was hearing things, but she was hearing it too. I pulled away to find Hunter looking up at me.

"Hunter" he smiled and nodded.

"Thank god, your ok son. I'm here" l cuddled him again, he put his arms around my neck. l was still crying hard, but l was full of relief.
