This chapter is dedicated to all of you. Thank you for your support. You're amazing and I hope you enjoy this chapter. Also, this is the last chapter for part 1. Part 2 is going to be darker as it shifts over to Jacob/Finn. Honestly, I base his character off of James McAvoy's character is Split. Hopefully you enjoy this final part 1 chapter.
The beginning is a brief little glance at the issues going on.
Everything almost seemed as if it was never going to end. Bodies had began to pop up again, the same MO as Jacob and it was getting harder and harder to track.
William, Jace and Zander has grown closer as the case became more and more dense and bloodier. Distant friends and old colleagues of both Jace had been found dead or close to. The ones that survived couldn't speak to say words as he had cut their tongues out and broke their hands and fingers.
They tried to pinpoint who he was going to next but the victims had become too erratic and randomized. Rebecca had gone into protective custody, against her own wishes, that caused her to take all of William's things and left them outside her front door with a note that said:
Since you want to continue to do things without consulting me, you can stay gone.
William nor Jace has heard from her, which was normal for WitSec but they didn't know that they were gonna have to get used to it as things become worse.
* 4 months later *
"...and another has been found by police this morning. This seems to be the work of the serial killer known as the Hide and Seek killer. He is known to the public but has had his appearance changed in the year since he came out." The TV screen went blank and I finally tore my eyes away from the TV and onto the only person that I had let into my life since William and Jace forced me to go into Witness Protection.
Rachel, a waitress in the small town of Tree Hill, North Carolina who was married to an overbearing man that her father forced her to marry.
"Korie, you have to stop watching the news like this. Those images and bad vibes are going to drive you insane." She said, her blonde hair in a messy bun, her sweats hanging off her body as well as her shirt seeing as she slept over last night.
Korie Gables. A nobody who just wanted to start fresh. I had enough money to get a house by the river, I worked at the local hospital as an RN and I kept my nose clean. I didn't talk to anyone but her.
I nodded and got up, going to bathroom and locking the door as she continued to ramble about how I shouldn't watch it and how crazy the west coast is and how she would never live there.
Rolling my eyes at her voice that leaked through the bathroom causing me to become agitated. I started the shower and began to play music from my phone knowing that it would stop her from continuing to talk. She was going to work anyways so by the time I was done, she would be gone.
My favorite Jill Scott song began to play and tears began to fill my eyes with the memories that filled my mind as I thought about Jace.
Jace Elliot Taylor. The man that I fell in love with, had a beautiful daughter and then got my heart broken. William and I had ended months before I went into Witness Protection. Things hadn't been the same since he had distanced himself and with me not wanting to deal with another Jace situation, was going to tolerate him telling me what to do and putting on an act in front of people.
I loved William, not as much as Jace but I could see myself with Will Sosa. He was a good man that cherished and loved the women he was with but he wasn't Jace.
