2 1/2 YEARS LATER

The small house came into view and he sighed. He hadn't been home in two years. He had left and everyone thought that he wasn't going to come back.

This is not going to be good. He said to himself. He knew his family and friends would be angry, they had a right to be.

Getting out of the car, he looked at how much the house had changed. More flowers had been planted due to her getting a green thumb, five cars in the large driveway, the cars of his family and lastly, the giggling that came from that little girl.

He missed that giggle.

He had missed his baby girl...both of them.

Knocking on the door, he waited patiently for someone to answer the door. When it did open, immediately he was met with a sharp and powerful blow to his jaw.

That's exactly what he expected.

Rubbing his cheek, he looked up to see William Sosa. His old friend. His old partner.

He didn't look happy, he was livid. Rebecca had become a sister to him and when Jace left two years ago, William as well as others came to help.

Before William could throw another punch, a small voice stopped him.

"Will! Come here!" Mackenzie shouted from inside the house. The detective softened just at the sound of his goddaughter calling him.

Sosa slammed the door in Jace's face, letting him know that he wasn't welcomed and that things had changed.

Author's note:

Welcome to the chase. This story is the third and final installment of the 6:31 a.m series.

Jace and Rebecca will be the main focus of the first part but it will all lead up to part two, which will mostly be focused on Finn/Jacob.

I'm excited to get deeper into the turmoil in the past two years and no joke all of this is just coming to my head as I write chapters. But please be patient with me.

I will update as much as possible and make the chapters as long as possible. I want this last book to be long and detailed. I want you guys at the edge of your seats, wondering what the hell is gonna happen next.

I want make this book extraordinary and I'm super excited to have you guys with me during this journey.

Until next time my loves,

X.
