Beverly was not afraid. She knew that he was powerful, among the ranks of his kind. She also knew that he was clever and devious. He would do anything he possibly could to escape her. She knew it, and she planned accordingly with her spells.

"I believe it worked, but we should still test it. Tell me you understand your job Jaxolox."

<Aye. I know what I need to do.>

"Explain it then."

Jax shot a cutting glare at Beverly. <I told you that I know what I am to do. Why do you question me still?>

"Because I demand it, and you will obey." She proudly and confidently stepped up to meet the demon eye to eye. "I called you, and you will do, and only do, what I have summoned you to do. Do you understand?"

A low grumble started inside Jax. It grew louder and more like a growl. He lifted his arm as if he was going to strike Beverly down. He built tension in the muscles and joints until his arm was shaking. He threw the punch.

As his shoulder released the tension and it slung forward toward Beverly, Albert reacted. He started to move toward Beverly and shield her from the blow. She put her hand up to stop him. She stood there, solid and unafraid, waiting.

A bright light flashed in the room. Jax squealed and whelped like an injured dog. The sound echoed through the large room. Jax cradled his hand and blew out the flames that had engulfed it.

Albert stood back and laughed. A roar poured from his deepest regions and echoed through the room. He didn't know why he thought this funny, but he did. "Ok you two. Put your penises away and lets get on with this. We are running out of time.

Beverly nodded. "You are right. Let's get on with this. Do you want to drive or shall I?"

"You have a bigger vehicle. All 3 of us won't fit in my truck. So I suppose, you."

"Alright. A word of advice, before we leave here. Do not trust him. He is not your friend. He is not concerned with anything but himself right now. It was different when he had your conscience to filter him. Now he does not. He will deceive you. Be prepared."

"Okay, you're scaring me. Stop that. Wait here. I might have some extra clothes in my truck." Albert turned and stomped out of the room. On his way I he started to turn around. He thought about how Jax's hand caught on fire as he swung a punch at Beverly. He laughed again, realizing that they would be just fine. He picked up his shoulders and half-skipped out to his truck.

When he returned, he was shocked. There was rubble and debris everywhere. Jax and Beverly were nowhere to be found. There were small flames burning all around the back of the room. He knew there had been a lot of damage and debris in the room, but now it seemed like there was even more.

The lights had been blown out throughout the room, but there were small fires burning in places around the room. The flames gave a cozy, almost romantic effect. The altar room that had once stood in the corner was now a pile of writhing and wiggling black velvet.

Albert rolled his eyes. "Are you fucking serious? Is this how it is going to be? The end of the world is coming and you guys are teenagers that can't control your hormones!" He stomped over toward the edge of the sea of velvet and yanked.

There they were, wrapped up together, writhing and moaning. Completely ignoring Albert's presence. He dropped the curtain, let the clothes he had carried in under his arm fall to the floor with a swoosh, and clomped out of the room.
