Albert rushes to Beverly's side. He has to know how to stop this demon that is about to consume the world. He shakes her gently. She is limp, but breathing. He shakes her a little harder. Still no response. He leans over her and starts to pound on her chest. He doesn't know cpr, except for what he has seen in the movies. He presses hard on her chest.
The pain in Beverly's chest in immense. She opens her eyes and finds Albert pressing hard on her abdomen repeatedly. "Stop it! I'll be ok. I just need to rest." She yells as she punches at Albert.
Albert sees her eyes open and stops pressing on her chest. "Oh good. Are you alright?"
"I won't be if you break a rib and it punctures a lung. Jesus man." She tries to sit up. "I just need time to heal. If you're considering being a paramedic, don't. You're technique sucks." Beverly tried to laugh but the pain from the slice through her neck and bruising she no doubt has now from Albert's poor life saving techniques made it come out as a wince instead. "What happened?"
She sits up and looks around Albert to the chaos of the two demons slinging monks around the room and the walls crumbling all around them. The room starts to spin. "Too soon." She says and lays back down and focuses on Albert's face.
"Well, you let yourself get kidnapped and they brought you here to be sacrificed, apparently. Jax was tied to a cross, but I cut him loose and now he's fighting monks on his way to Dongorul. I don't know what his plan is exactly when he gets there, but I don't think it's going to be pretty. We need to stop this Dongorul before he gets out. He's gonna run out of monks soon at this rate. Any ideas?"
She takes a deep breath and grabs Albert by the shirt. She pulls him close to her and whispers something to him. He listens attentively and when he understands, he repeats the whisper back to her. She nods and passes out again. He turns and storms through the cave. Beating off a group of monks along the way. When he reaches the demon, he yells his name.
"Dongorul. We should talk."
The demon halts his monk munching for a moment and turns to look at Albert. "You have no power over me, mortal." He turns his back to Albert proper, grabs another monk and swallows him whole.
Albert turns to look at Beverly and tell her he tried but it didn't work. She was lying there in a slump, breathing, but barely. He recalled how she spoke to Jax yesterday and how Jax responded when she said his whole name. The authority she commanded. He mustered his own.
Dongorul le'Ferat hear me. I command you to come to me, now!"
The demon turns and faces him, a look of shock on it's face. I rushes toward Albert, gnashing it's teeth and flaring what Albert believed were it's nostrils, on the side of it's head.
Albert starts to panic and jams his hand into his pocket. He fumbles around in his pocket and pulls out his zippo lighter. He begins to chant the words that Beverly whispered to him.
"Solnus exapting pelubus ren. Solnus exapting pelubus ren. Solnus exapting pelubus ren."
His denial of any of this stuff changed as he repeated the chant, over and over again, louder and louder with each repeat. The demon storming toward him at break neck speed.
Beverly sits up and begins to chant along. She is bleeding heavily and dizzy but knows that Albert needs all the energy he can for the spell to work. She stares hard at Jax until he makes eye contact with her. He sees her chanting and nodding. He sees the pleading look on her face and as she chants the words.
"Solnus exapting pelubus ren." Jax begins to chant as well. Like Albert, louder and louder with each repeat.
A bright beam of light begins to spread from the center of Albert's lighter. He knows that he has to concentrate. He continues to chant, louder and louder. As he does, the beam of light grows and begins to spread through the room. The demon, seeing the light, slows down his approach.
As the light reaches it's brightest point, Dongorul stops dead in his tracks and turns to run the other way. He is slowly dragged back toward Albert but an unseen force. A loud buzz fills the room, a flash of light like a lightning bolt and loud crack echo in the room. Suddenly, the bright light and the demon disappear.
Albert brings his lighter up to eye level and then looks around the room. Dongorul is gone. He exhales a long hard breath. He looks over at Jax, still fighting with the monks.
"These monks are relentless. Their leader and their god are both gone but they are still fighting. What the hell?" Albert rushes off into the crowd to help Jax with the battle before Beverly can stop him.
Beverly watches from the platform for a few minutes. She laughs out loud as Jax he belts out a battle cry. He looks like he hasn't had this much fun in years. There are bodies flying everywhere. Jax is ripping people apart and pounding them into the ground.
Beverly looks around the room for Albert and watches as Albert hears the battle cry from behind him and turns to see what is happening. He sees bodies, in whole and in pieces, flying in every direction.
"Ahhhhwwoooooo!" Albert returns the call to Jax.
He turns back around and receives a hard punch to the face, and another in his kidney. He falls to the ground. There are arms and legs pummeling him from all directions. He rolls into a ball to protect himself. He looks up and sees Jax steaming toward him throwing hooded figures out of his way. Another blow to the head and darkness slips over him.
