The planet was baron waste land as Dean took in just sand and emptiness on this planet. He felt so alone. He knew he should not think it unfair as he was here for the crimes he committed and he could be worse off in prison but his brother, Sam had helped him out and got him this job here. All he had to do was record what the computer says and then once a month Sam would pitch up with supplies and take the data and the cycle would repeat itself. Tomorrow would be the day Sam arrived for his monthly visit. He missed talking but that one day would all he have of monthly contact.
Dean lay on his bunk deciding he would just go to bed so tomorrow would come faster. As he closed his eyes his only thoughts were on wishing he was not so alone.
The dawn rose and so did the temperature. It was typical dessert weather. Cold at night and hot in the day. Dean grumbled as he got off his bunk. He did a few stretches before heading to wear his food was stored. He looked at the minimum amount of an apple and a bowl of porridge.
'What I wouldn't give for a pie and burger.' He thought to himself as he grabbed the porridge and went to hunt some milk down to make it. After having his bland breakfast he took a quick shower and got dressed. As he was ready, the purr of an engine in the distance. 'Just on time.' He thought.
He walked out from his base tent and into the hot sun but not before collecting his cap. The sun beat down against his shirt and cap. Dean wished he could return to the tent but knew he wanted to see his brother more. The ship eventually landed and the ramp came down. Sam was the first to exit the ship before signalling the others to unpack.
"Dean!" Sam yelled in a cheerful voice. They both hugged before heading towards the tent so Dean could hand over the data. They entered the coolness of the tent and Dean handed over the data chip. Sam seemed nervous though. He kept running his hand through his brown locks. His eyes darting nervously around.
"I have some news."
Dean gave him a look that said 'don't beat around the bush'
"There is a gift on the ship for you." Dean was starting to get annoyed at his brothers crypticness.
Sam gestured him to follow. They walked outside until they stopped a few meters from the ship. Dean hated the heat.
"So what is this gift?" Dean was now curious as he peered at his brothers puppy excited face. Alcohol? Pie? ...Salad?
Sam indicated his towards the ship and what Dean saw made him think the heat had gotten to him.
An angel. It was an angel.
This angel had dark hair and the bluest eyes Dean had ever seen. He looked like an angel. Who looked a bit lost?
"Castiel over here!" Sam yelled out waving to indicate to the angel he should come over.
"Castiel..." murmured Dean. An angel with a beautiful name. Castiel, the angel, made is way towards the pair. As he got closer Dean noticed something. Castiel's eyes were that blue. He was also wearing a jacket that said 'X520'.
Castiel was no angel but a damn android. Dean despised them. They were annoying and what got him in this mess in the first place. Dean turned his furious eyes to Sam just as Sam caught on that Dean knew. Dean was about to blow a casket but a sweet, rough voice interrupted him before he could.
"Hello Sam and... Mr Winchester." If Sam was not around Dean was sure that he would have melted to the ground and not from the damn planets heat but that voice. He looked like an angel and had a voice of one but he was not an angel. He was a damn machine.
Dean turned to face Castiel. Castiel was shorter.
Sam smiled at Castiel. "Cass this is Dean. Dean this is Cass or Castiel."
Castiel stretched out a hand to shake Deans. Dean ignored it and walked back to his tent. Did not matter. A salad would have been better than a damn machine. Sam called out to him before apologizing to the android.
Dean barged into his tent before flopping down into his chair. He covered his face with his hands feeling frustration. He could hear hesitant steps coming into his tent.
"Please Dean. They won't send normal humans... and you are all alone on this planet and there is a big storm coming and we won't be able to come for almost three months and we brought the supplies needed but...what about your emotional need? Castiel is unique. You'll see. So please?"
Dean peeked from his hands and saw Sam's puppy face. He regretted looking but not as much and grumbling out a "fine."
Sam was overjoyed. Dean was not.
Dean could feel it in his bones he was going to regret this. He regretted is the very second he said 'fine'. He regretted as he watched Sam's ship fly off at sunset. He regretted not saying no.
He sighed as he headed back to his tent after saying by to his brother for a few months. Months with this android.
Dean got into his tent and saw Castiel going over some files by his desk. He had not strength for this thus decided an early nights rest will do.
