Meryl went through the premiere wearing a smile on her face to mask her true feelings of hurt and betrayal. Many people interviewed her, putting her acting skills in an unscripted situation to the test. When she saw Pierce, her blood boiled. Who did he think he was to leave her like that? He sidled up next to her and wrapped his strong arm around her waist. Meryl so badly wanted to shake it off, but her heart told her not to. In spite of herself, she felt something for this man. Was it love? She didn't know. It had been a while since she had loved. It had been even longer since she had been loved.
She saw on the monitors what a handsome couple the two of them made. But then, when she looked out at the crowd, she saw people whispering. She felt a little sick and knew she needed to escape. Charmingly, she spun out of Pierce's grasp and gracefully danced to the restroom, the one place she could be alone. She got about 5 minutes of peace before Pierce floated in. He was so stunning looking.
"You arrogant son of a bitch! How could you use me like that?" She felt bad for saying that but it was true.
He brought his soft, masculine hands up to caress her cheeks and pressed his lips against hers. "Shh, just close your eyes."
Meryl fought against him and tore herself away. "You can't make me."
Pierce came closer. "Meryl, please."
She slapped him and made for the door. He blocked it. "Don't leave. Not until you let me explain."
"Okay explain. I'm waiting."
Pierce took a deep breath. "I can't tell you everything. Not yet. But you have to trust me. I left because there's someone- someone trying to hurt me and I don't want them to come after you."
"Who's trying to hurt you? Why?"
"I can't say yet, but please just trust me."
"Alright." Pierce unblocked the door and Meryl started to open it. "I have one last question, Pierce."
"Okay, shoot."
"Why did you tell me to close my eyes?"
Pierce smiled, a smile both seductive and rueful. "You are a feisty one, Streep. I knew you would want to fight back and I was trying to keep you calm. I don't blame you if you never want to see me again though. I'm a rat and I know it."
Meryl gave him one last long look and walked out of the bathroom and back into the crowd of flashing cameras.

Author's Note: Sorry for the long wait and the trashy short chapter, Mari had a tough few nights with her CPap :(
