i miss you when i close my eyes

"dude, man up. just call her, explain to her everything." he spoke to himself glaring at the old frame, picturing him.

he sighed and dragged the telephone into his lap as he plunged himself into the sofa. as he typed the numbers, gradually the pain crawled up to him. the only thing that spoke in the room was the dials, the hanging of the pauses.
"pick up, pick up, pick up." his voice hardly escaped his lips as his tension came short. his foot began tapping repeatedly, trying to keep his cool.

"please." he repeated.

he lost hope when he heard the abnormal voice. after the beep, his lips pursed open.

"hey –uh, shit." he begins to apologise. but before, he mumbles to himself, "where do i start?" he exhaled and glanced at the wall in front of him with a picture of the people who you would never believe to part.

he held it in his hand, brought it to his lips as he planted a kiss, "i'm sorry, i'm sorry for leaving you. i'm sorry for not letting you know, i'm sorry for making you feel so much inevitable pain. i'm sorry for not returning your calls, i'm sorry for not answering your texts." his voice broke in between, he realised he wasn't been truthful enough.

"i left because i never thought i was good enough for you. my moods always affected your's. i needed to understand, what was going on through my mind. but in the very absence of you. that's when i needed you most."

just around the corner, right where the line leads to her, she was there listening. his voice brought her peace and sanity, it removed the anguish and heartache.

she just wanted to know he was alright.
