Chapter 2.

"Nira" A wave of voices echoed through my head.

"Nira"The voices echoed again. Looking for the source, I open my eyes to see where the voice was coming from.

Darkness welcomed me and it was so cold that I could see my breath as I breathed. I got up and looked around.

Everything was dark and I had no clue where I was.

" Hello?" I called out trying to figure out where I was.

Then suddenly my memories came to me.

I escaped from Paul and made it to the nearest gas station. Then I passed out. I was dead.

A feeling of sadness engulfed me. I finally made it out and away from Paul, only to die.

A bright light shined to my right. I turned and winced, " Hello? Who's there?"

A silhouette emerged from the light, I still wasn't able to see their face, " Niiiiirra" The voice trailed off.

My breath hitched. There was only one person who called me that. My dad.

" Daddy?" I started walking towards the silhouette.

" Daddy? Is that you? Where am I dad?" I reached out for the silhouette.

" Niraa..." The voice said to me.

Tears started streaming down my eyes. I never thought that I would hear or see my dad ever again. But I suppose these circumstances weren't the most conventional. The only reason I was seeing my dad was because he and my mom both died. And now I was dead too.

My dad finally came into view. He looked healthier than ever as he smiled down at me.

" Nira baby. Look at you.." Now I was sobbing.

I ran to my dad and hugged him. Something was off, he wasn't warm like he usually is.

" Dad.. I missed you so much.." His grip on me loosened as he pulled back to look at me.

His eyes looked sad, " Don't.. have much..time.."

I was confused, why was he talking like this? I was dead with them, we had all the time in the after life to be together now. " What do you mean? Why are you talking about time?"

Then I noticed my mom wasn't there. I frowned, " Dad, where's mom?"

His image started to flicker and he started to disappear, " Dad? Dad? Wh-What's happening?!"

"It's not your time..." His voice trailed off as he became transparent.

I started to panic, " No! Dad! I want to come with you and mom! Please don't leave me again!" Without realizing it, I was chasing after him. The more I chased after him the further the light went and I wasn't able to see him any more.

" Live Nira, live.." These were the last words I heard my dad say.

" I..just.. got you back..don't go dad.. please don't go.." I closed my eyes and curled into a ball.

......

"Just kill her. We'll dump her body on Paul's front porch and that'll send a message to him." A muffled voice said.

"Nah, we can't.That ain't our call, Ralph. Plus," another higher pitched voice spoke " She's a kid."

I was starting to come to and overhear the conversation around me.

"So what, she worked for 'em. He owes Demir. It'd be perfect." The muffled voice spoke again.

Were they talking about me?

I tried to speak and realized my throat was dry. I assumed I was in a hospital, due to the stark white walls that surrounded me and the beeping of my vitals machine. I felt around for a call light and when I found it I pressed it, calling for help.

"How can I help you?" A nurses voice echoed over the intercom above my bed.

Two people stepped inside of the room, a tall man with blue eyes and strawberry blonde hair and then a petite dark haired women both dressed in black.

"You're awake. How are you feeling?"

I shrugged and pointed at my throat. I was thirsty.

The doctors had a nurse bring in a pitcher of water and give me some.

From then, they started talking to me about my injuries and asked me what happened.

I couldn't tell them everything. The feeling that Paul would find me one way or another rested in my mind. I knew the rules; snitches get stitches...in my case I got stitches and wasn't a snitch. So I can only imagine how much worse it could be for me if I said anything about my situation.

The doctors could tell that I was withholding information from them, but they'd never hear the truth from my mouth as long as Paul was still out there and capable of finding me.

Once they were done questioning me, they left and the most attractive man I've ever seen dressed in a black suit stepped into my room.
