Being grouped with the first years didn't really upset Ivy, mainly due to the fact that they were the most friendliest of her fellow Slytherins to her. For the first half of the feast, they were a bit wary of her, but curiosity won out and now they consider her their "cool, older friend." The way a child's mind works is adorable, Ivy thought as they all walked over to the two fifth year prefects that were to be leading them down to the Dungeons.

"Hello, my letter said that I should go down with the first years and wait for my Head of House." Ivy spoke to the blond haired prefect, who merely nodded and turned away. "Ivy Evans," she said, holding out her hand to the blond.

Her blue eyes narrowed slightly, "Athena Avery." She said, emphasis on her surname, before turning around and taking the spot next to the male prefect.

Ivy looked down next to her, where Benton stood, "Friendly, isn't she?" He smiled and tried not to laugh, however,  Abraxas couldn't resist from his spot next to Benton.

"She's like that even to her family," he spoke to Ivy and Benton, much to the annoyance of Athena whose eyes landed harshly on him. Abraxas' smile slowly dissipated as he looked down, shifting nervously to his right side. "She's a distant cousin of mine." He glanced up again, "So is Regulus, his cousin married my older brother last year."

Ivy looked back over at the other prefect, Regulus, as Abraxas called him. He looked strikingly similar to Sirius, who she knew from Lily's off-hand comment about having a younger brother in Slytherin, they both shared the same black hair and grey eyes. Regulus, however, had shorter hair and his grey eyes were a shade darker. His face seemed slimmer compared to his older brother's and he stood more rigidly and upright than the relaxed and flamboyant ways of Sirius.

She looked back down at Abraxas, who had paled, impossibly more, in the few seconds her eyes were away. "I think I might go over there, I don't want to be rude and ignore them. T-They're family, after all." Abraxas said in a quiet voice, very unlike his eccentric and cheery tone from earlier. He stepped away from them without waiting for a response and quickly made his way over to Athena, who lessened the ferocity of her gaze on him.

Benton, and Doris who had just joined them and had heard what Abraxas had said, looked up at her with questioning eyes. "We can always speak to him later, come on, we're starting to move." It would be foolish of Ivy to say anything to Athena or Regulus, she was an outsider and a stranger that would only cause conflict. She didn't even know these people.

Ivy drifted into the back of the new first years, taking in her surroundings. The paintings they passed, some looking at her curiously, and others either having a conversation with one another or nimbly splayed out on a chair dozing off.

Ivy took in the tall ceilings that got shorter and shorter as they made their way down stone stairs that echoed as one walked. The lighting grew dimmer and the paintings became more rare, alcoves with dark green couches and curtains taking place (a few having some tall windows displaying dark waters, presumably the Black Lake). She heard Athena mention that the common room had one huge window, with couches, chairs, and small tables littering the area around it, and how you could sometimes spot the Merpeople when you hung out with your friends in one of the sitting areas.
