The Battle of Hogwarts may have been won by a brave boy, but a life was saved because of a brilliant girl.

Hermione Granger saved Bellatrix Lestrange. It was a sentence no one ever thought of speaking. It was a sentence neither of the pair would ever speak, not even in private. It was a sentence of ultimate truth.

As Molly Weasley pointed her wand at the unhinged witch, Hermione found herself rushing toward a death eater that stood ready to fire at Mrs.Weasley. She managed to tackle Mrs. Weasley to the ground and disarm the death eater.

This had given Bellatrix the time to escape. Molly had been unaware of the death eater lurking behind her and did not know that Hermione was only trying to save her. Hermione soon found herself groveling in the rubble of Hogwarts.

Mrs.Weasley had sent a very powerful Cruciatus Curse at the young witch, labeling her as a traitor. Though the Battle was chaotic, everyone seemed to freeze as Hermione's screams rang out through the school grounds.

Ron found himself running towards his girlfriend's screams and completely in shock at the scene in front of him. His mom stood with a strong grip on her wand and his girlfriend the recipient of a tantalizing spell.

A conflict played in the boy's mind. A decision that took longer than it should've slipped into his head. Ronald Weasley had finally decided to disarm his mother.

Hermione collapsed feeling her consciousness fade quickly the last thing she heard was Mrs. Weasley calling her a traitor.

The war was over. Neville Longbottom was the real hero when the smoke all cleared. The students rejoiced at the victory, almost forgetting about the ones they had lost.

Harry and Ron stood over the unconscious Hermione in the Hospital Wing trying to make sense from what Mrs. Weasley told them.

" She wouldn't, Harry. Hermione would never be on their side. She is a muggle, why would she join a club of muggle haters?"

" I don't know Ron, but your mom is right about a few things. Bellatrix Lestrange is gone, she escaped Ron. Do you know what she'll do when she finds out we killed her Lord Voldemort? If you think she's nice enough to just kill us you're wrong."

Ron was upset. Upset with his mother. Upset with his best friend. Upset with his girlfriend. Upset about his brother. Ron was under a pressure only Merlin could lift from his shoulders.

" Fine, you're Harry Potter. You win. You want my girlfriend expelled, exiled, banished from the Wizarding World, then so be it. You really think you have that power? Bloody hell Harry we haven't even had a chance to graduate. It's supposed to be us three. Not just me and you. I've lost enough today and you must be as crazy as Bellatrix if you think you can take my girlfriend away from me."

Hermione was conscious, she heard it all. She was destroyed at the fact that Molly and Harry had been so quick to throw her to the dark side. She had probably lost the most out of anyone in the process. Her only family members didn't remember her and her boyfriend's family would soon hate her.

She didn't know why, but she blamed Molly. Molly had spread the lies about her to almost the entirety of people at Hogwarts. Hermione couldn't stand that thought in the slightest. The thought of everyone eyeing her at every second irritated the girl.

It's not like the Syltherins' didn't stare at her and mock her blood status, or like the Ravenclaws' didn't give her dirty looks for being smarter, or even the Hufflepuffs' and Gryffindors'. They were all always targeting "poor old mudblood 'Mione".

She decided to leave. She didn't care if it looked as if she was guilty. She didn't care if they'd even look for her. In this moment in particular she didn't even care about Ron.

She liked the boy she really did, but Hermione knew he'd eventually choose his family over her. Hermione knew that the death of his brother would make the family closer. It would bring them together in a way that would exclude Hermione as his mother proclaimed her to be a traitor.

Night came and Hermione was wide awake on the hospital bed. Now was her chance to leave and never return. She sat up carefully in the bed checking her surroundings and finding everyone else asleep.

She slipped out of the bed and made her way to the front exit of Hogwarts. She had almost made it until she suddenly froze. Her body seemed to be in paralysis; she couldn't move at all.

" Where do you think you're going, Granger?" The voice was all too familiar to Hermione. A voice that had been a pain in her side since her first year in the magical school.

" My dear Aunt would like to have a chat with you," Draco stepped into the light sending her a sad smile," I actually don't want to do this I hope you might understand it one day"

He grabbed her arm gently before apparating them both to the Black Manor.
