Draco had been a victim all his life and he was tired of it. He was fed up with his family viewing him as inferior. He had worked and worked to prove himself and they still denied him. He wanted to be free from this burden. The burden of the Malfoy name.
He had realized some things after kidnapping Hermione for his aunt. The Gryffindor was right, he could just run away from this all. Draco felt like he couldn't do this without Hermione. If he just left the girl it'd be one more thing to lay on his conscience.
The boy didn't really have a plan besides getting Hermione out of the manor then apparating somewhere else. In his mind he didn't have the time; it was now or never.
He waited until dark to visit his aunt. She was obviously surprised to see him but also excited. " Oh Draco dear, how wonderful of you to drop by," she let out a crazy laugh," my little muddy has been bored all day. Now she has someone her age to play with."
Bellatrix led Draco to her room where Hermione was sat with a book in her hand. Bellatrix left the two alone and Draco took this as his opportunity.
" I know we've had our differences over the years but no one deserves to be trapped here with that mad woman. Let's do it Granger, let's run away."
Hermione looked at him with hope in her eyes," Ok." That's all Draco needed to hear before he grabbed the young witch's hand, leading her through the manor. When they approached a certain hall they found Bellatrix with her back turned to them.
Draco took this as his chance to stun the witch. She was paralyzed just as Hermione had been two days prior. The pair ran out of the house and didn't stop running. They ran until Hermione's legs gave out, almost causing her to fall.
The blonde wizard quickly wrapped his arms around the witch's waist preventing her falling. She stared up at him and he stared down at her. They shouldn't have stopped but both of them seemed mesmerized.
Maybe it was the fact they had both been through so much or maybe it was an attraction that had always been there, but they found themselves incapable of breaking eye contact.
Hermione was the first to lean forward and Draco did the same. As soon as their lips touched they both pulled away. Both were blushing viciously," We just-"
The conversation was cut by a chaotic laugh. They had stopped for too long, Bellatrix caught up to them. She was furious, how could she be so stupid. She had opened herself to the young witch and now it was coming back to make her regret it.
The teens sprinted but it was no use. Draco ran glancing to make sure the young witch was still with him when he heard her fall. Tears fell from his face because he knew if he turned back Bellatrix would have his head. So he didn't stop, he just kept running before he finally felt safe enough to apparate.

Hermione woke up in a familiar area. The area held no good memories. It was dark and damp causing the girl distress. She struggled but all she heard was the rattles of chains. She knew she messed up by trying to run but it was her only chance for freedom.
She should've stayed put. She had just allowed herself to get comfortable in the manor but following Draco ruined it. Draco. She looked from her left to her right looking for the blonde boy and panicking when she was unable to find him.
" He left you." Her head snapped upwards. The girl tried to study Bellatrix but was unable to in the darkness. She noticed the weak tone behind her voice and fear took over her heart. Bellatrix was sad and everyone knew that truly meant she was angry.
" Just as you tried to leave me muddy," the woman was closer now and the girl could see the disturbed look in her eyes. " Bellatrix I-" the death eater threw a cruciatus curse at the muggle. " I DIDN'T ASK YOU ANYTHING DID I?"
Hermione flinched, tears flowed down her face. The older woman tilted her head in confusion before forcibly grabbing Hermione's chin," You poor filthy mudblood. Why do you cry? You're the one who has forsaken me, child. You tricked me into letting my guard down. You fooled me for moment but never again.''
The younger witch wanted to speak but feared that it would only hurt her case. Bellatrix released her face before spitting in it. Hermione wanted to wipe the saliva off of her face but the restraints kept her from doing so.
Hermione thought it was over when Bellatrix turned away but was proven wrong when she was whipped across her back. She screamed in agony as Bellatrix beat her with the whip. Strike after strike after strike. It seemed never ending to the young witch.
Bellatrix was relentless, not stopping even when the girl's screams died down. " Please." It was but a whimper out of her mouth. It seems that this worked as Bellatrix halted the beating.
Bellatrix walked out of the dungeon without looking towards the girl. Hermione was left alone in the pitch black dungeon, back bruised and beaten, with no knowledge of how long Bella would keep her in there.
