Working for S.H.I.E.L.D. was never easy, especially when I had been told I was to hunt down four members of the Avengers; Natasha Romanoff, Sam Wilson, Wanda Maximoff, and Steve Rogers. The Black Widow, The Falcon, The Scarlet Witch, and Captain America. Four of the best fighters known today. But when they went on the run, after helping Buck Barnes, aka The Winter Soldier, escape when he was charged for the murder of the late Wakandian King T'Chaka, they made themselves outlaws.

I had been hired by S.H.I.E.L.D. when they were on the hunt for new supers, following what was called the Civil War between Tony Stark and Steve Rogers. A battle that split the Avengers in two, those who felt there needed to be restrictions put on where they went and who they helped and those who felt that it ridiculous for S.H.I.E.L.D. to put regulations on a group that has done nothing but their best to help, save, and protect Earth and her people. I know I shouldn't say this, but honestly had S.H.I.E.L.D. found me before the battle, I probably would have sided with Rogers.

Being the older of the new recruits, I was assigned to work with James Rhodes, even though I call him Rhodey. The other new recruit is a 16-year-old, high schooler, who calls himself Spider-Man, that Stark recruited before the battle. He's a nice enough kid, a little quirky, but since when is that a bad thing. Stark has given me the nicknames Fire Touch and Sparky, due to my Psychic Electrokinesis. Basically, I can generate electronic through my skin.

One day Rhodes and I are in the upstate New York HQ dealing with the red tape with a hologram of the Secretary of State, Thaddeus Ross, since we haven't heard from Vision in days. "Still no word from Vision?" Ross askes, looking over some papers in his holographic state.

"Satellites lost him somewhere over Edinburgh." Rhodes leans against a table, his back is probably hurting him today. Stark made him mechanical braces that let him walk, but they do little for the pain.

"On a stolen quin jet with four of the world's most wanted criminals."

"You know, they're only criminals because you've chosen to call them that, right?" I lean against a doorway, across the room from Rhodes, pausing, "Sir."

"My god, your talents for horseshit rivals my own." Ross looks from me to Rhodes.

Rhodes shakes his head, "if it wasn't for those Accords, Vision would've been right here."

"I remember your signature on those papers, Colonel." Ross stands and walks around the table in the hologram.

"That's right." Rhodes sounding a little bitter, "and I'm pretty sure I've paid for that." Rhodes walks up to the holographic Ross.

"You have second thoughts?"

"Not anymore," Rhodes crosses his arms.

"What about you, Rose?" Ross turns to me, "Do you think it was right?"

Before I can answer the fugitive Avengers enter, Wilson supporting Vision. Rogers nods his head to Ross, "Mr. Secretary."

Ross turns to Rogers and the others, "You got some nerve. I'll give you that."

"You could use some of that right now," Romanoff crosses her arms.

"The worlds on fire. And you think, all is forgiven?"

Roger shakes his head, "I'm not looking for forgiveness. And I'm way past asking permission. Earth just lost her best defender. So we're here to fight." Rogers takes a step forward looking right at Ross, "And if you wanna stand in our way, we'll fight you too."

Ross looks over to Rhodes, then back to me, "Arrest them."

"All over it." Rhodes swipes off the hologram and the computer beeps twice. "That's a court-martial. It's great to see you, Cap."

Rhodes and Rogers hug one another, "You too, Rhodey."

Once Rhodes and Rogers separate, Rhodes hugs Romanoff, "Well, you guys really look like crap. Must've been a rough couple of years."

Wilson nods, "Yeah, well, the hotels weren't exactly five stars."

"Uh, well, I think you look great." Rhodes and Romanoff turn around to see Banner walking in from the door beside me. "Uh.. heh... yeah, I'm back."

Romanoff smiles, very awkwardly, "hi, Bruce."

"Nat."

Wilson whispers, "this is awkward."

"Who is this?" Rogers looks up to me.

"This is Phoebe Rose, she is one of our newest Avengers." Rhodes gestures toward me.

I shake my head and step down onto the main floor, walking over to Rhodes and Rogers, "Can I really be an Avenger? I mean, you guys kind of broke up."

"Well," Rogers smiles, "Either way it's nice to meet you." He extends a hand. I smile and take his hand before he gently shakes it, "So, what's your thing?"

Rhodes chuckles, "Show him, Fire Touch."

"Fire Touch?" Rogers looks between Rhodes and I, "you're PyroKinetic?"

I shake my head, "No, I'm not." I look over to Rhodes, "I don't know why Stark gave me that nickname it makes no sense."

"Then what is your thing?"

"Electricity." Rogers looks at me a little confused, "I can generate an electric pulse all over my body."

"Huh," Banner comments, "that's a new one."
